On May 18, 2024 I was seen in the emergency room and admitted until May 21, 2024. I was initially admitted for severe constipation after CT scans were taken that according to doctors showed that I was so severely filled up with stool that it had also backed up into my stomach for the next 48 hours I was given six enemas several suppositories and around the clock medicationâs that were supposed to produce a bowel movement, including 2 gallon jugs of Go-Litely which is a prep given for colonoscopies. Even after all of these medications I was still unable to produce a bowel movement, only pieces of stool and all of the fluids that I was taking in were being passed. I was saving what I was able to pass in the toilet for the nurses to see that I was still unable to have a full or complete bowel movement. On the morning of the 21st, a doctor came in immediately to discuss discharge, even though the state of my health had not changed, they gave me another CT scan and said that my constipation was no longer severe but moderate. Upon this time I asked for the on duty gastroenterologist to come in and speak to me. She came in and I asked her if even with all of those medicationâs, I had still not been able to go to the bathroom at what point do we get invasive? She looked at me a very condescending manner and said to me we are not going to get invasive about this . It was at that point that I asked for a patient liaison as well as all of my documents and notes about my stay in the hospital and that I needed it in writing that they were saying it was OK to discharge me. as of June 10 I have still not been able to have a colonoscopy done due to the fact that my bowels will not empty after following up with a G.I. specialist after my hospital stay I was informed this morning that she feels it is not safe to do the procedure at a surgical facility, but that I now need to be referred to a surgeon that can do it inside of the hospital. This being due to the fact that they are afraid that even with the colonoscopy prep, I will not be able to empty my bowel however, in a hospital, it can be done with the bowel not being completely empty because hospitals have the ability to use invasive surgical materials to remove any leftover stool. I find this absolutely alarming that a month later I am being sent back to a hospital to have a procedure done that could have been done by your hospital while I was there for 72 hours. I feel every doctor and specialist that saw me in your hospital were negligent careless, and do not deserve to practice medicine if they are not going to uphold the oath that they took to save lives. Nowhere in that oath does it state save a life dependent upon their ability to pay or if they have an HMO or a PPO, or if patient insurance is in or out of network. My children, my husband, my grandchildren, my siblings, and myself all find my life worth more value than what you placed upon it. When your hospital very negligently made the decision to discharge me not caring rather not. I would receive proper care. I ended up returning to your emergency room on May 30 in which I received my third diagnosis in a nine day period. That would ensure that your hospital would not be responsible for treating me. I was then again told to follow up with an OB/GYN because I did not have a ball obstruction, I had cyst on my ovaries. I should inform you I no longer have so I was told by your emergency room nurse that I had free floating cyst in my abdomen where my uterus used to be. The huge problem with this is the nurse was not qualified to go over Your providers findings with me the provider never even returned to discuss what was found on my CT scan or the cyst on my nonexistent ovaries. I have officially filed a complaint with the Texas medical board as well as...
Read moreFirst I want to shout out the nurses we need more of. Alice was so kind, compassionate and understanding. She did her job great. She listened to understand not just to respond or gaslight you. When I explained that I just had surgery and my pain is passed Tylenol she did her job without personal feelings and got me pain medicine that worked.
Rose was the nurse that got me ready for surgery. She was very sweet, understanding and informative. She was patient and wasnât looking for anything to try and upset or blow smoke up your butt. Like the nurse that wanted me to do a pregnancy test after a MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, blood drawn. Now itâs important to do a pregnancy test smh. Glad her co-workers understood how dumb that sounded. Jeff from the kitchen very kind man. He took accountability that some of his staff have attitude problems. He has the mentality that hospital staff should have. One day they can end up in a hospital and theyâre going to want to be treated like a human. Last Lucille very sweet lady. Very understanding and a problem solver. She made sure I ate and was heard. Somehow my food order got mixed up. Unlike the other rude kitchen workers that think I have nothing better to do than lie about what I ate, she listened.
I already have PTSD from hospitals. They literally hate patients that speak up for themselves. Itâs always the same mess, they know everything and the patient knows nothing and lie about everything. They have no compassion. And donât want to deal with you when they just want to act like IVs donât hurt so just twist, turn and snatch stuff off your arm. When you remind them youâre a human they get mad. When you remind them youâre hungry they keep saying theyâre going to check. So I got out of surgery at 4:30. Surgeon cleared me to eat at 5:00. The nurse came in and I asked about food, he said he has to see if the doctor cleared me. I said the doctor cleared me long time ago. Well since he isnât starving my long time ago isnât his long time ago so he raised his voice to let me know that. Then they for whatever reason couldnât give me the right menu. I had to beg for pain medicine because acourse as we know let them believe it some of us just donât experience pain. So after my surgery I shouldâve just been happy with Tylenol and muscle relaxer. A man nurse just walked in my room no knocking or announcing himself so I could have the choice to cover my butt. Then they gaslight you when you tell them the proper way a man should enter a womanâs patient room telling you theyâll close the door. The door was closed when he did it. Imagine inmates get more respect a woman has to announce theyâre on the floor before walking smh. So this will be another hospital that has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. However I still would come back because it was clean. The surgeon team was great. The food was nice. I just feel nurses need better training in listening and compassion. They need to get the chip off their shoulder and stop taking it so personal when theyâre being told something. One nurse got mad because I said I didnât want to shower before my surgery get close because I will have to shower get monitors back on and then shower again. The monitors hurt coming off. Then when I was ordering my food she took it upon herself to talk over me and order what she wanted thatâs how my order got confused because...
Read moreThe standard of care have really decreased at Methodist Sugarland and I didn't realize just how much until I found myself in the ER. I don't know if it's budget cuts or what but I need Methodist Sugarland to get it together. First, I am a 20+ year Nurse. I never reveal that info because I don't want to make anyone uneasy or feel nervous about doing their job. So I go to ER for SOB/Wheezing/Chest Pain/Arm & Leg Numbness. They put me in a Room and Sit me in a Recliner. Yes A Recliner???!!!! Ask me these questions, STILL WHEEZING. No Oxygen or Nothing. Ask more questions, STILL in the Recliner, WHEEZING. Tell the Young, ER M.D. all what's going on. His response, "Oh, We're not going to worry about the Chest Pain or Numbness right now, that's not important." Ok, I gave my Husband and Son, The Look. I mean being that I can't breathe and my Blood Pressure is 179/98 and the Dr. Says my chest pain/numbness is not important. Ok, moving right along. Nurse comes in with Prednisone 60mg. Steroids ok, I take it. STILL WHEEZING, NO Oxygen, No Nebulizer Tx. Ok, I wait. I wait. Now the Respiratory Therapist comes with the Neb Tx. I'm taking it then the XRay tech comes for me, for a Chest XRay. Honestly, I felt as though, all the time I waited; the CXR should've been done 1st. Anyway, Neb Tx finished. Doctor comes in, Listens with Stethoscope. Guess what he says, "You're. ......STILL WHEEZING". No kidding, you can hear it without Auscultation. XR Tech comes back, takes XR. After XR, STILL WHEEZING...I'm escorted to the Business Chair. You know the one that you sit in to give your Insurance Info to the Rep. STILL WHEEZING!!!!!!. After that I'm escorted to the Sick Room to sit in a filthy chair....Again. I call it that because you're actually in a makeshift lobby with a TV, more chairs, and sick people; some wearing mask. We're all sick, sitting in chairs. Ok, I wait..STILL WHEEZING!!!!! The nurse come get me and bring me to a Room, He stated The Dr. will come in and talk to you about your results. Well he did..... Sent me home with a 4 Day Antibiotic, An Inhaler, and 5 day Prednisone. And Guess what, I went home......STILL WHEEZING!!!!!. The next day, I did follow up with my Dr. for the numbness/SOB, I'll just say it was something very serious. Truth is I wanted to go to Methodist in The Medical Center and I should have. I don't know what happened to Methodist Sugarland. A few years Ago, the care was outstanding. They took great care of my husband. We felt pleased. He felt secure with them. The care now is unacceptable. No Excuses. Patients depend on your Hospital, Your Staff. They are at their weakest and most vulnerable state when they come to you....
