I am deeply disappointed today with my recent experience at IHOP. As my family and myself are regulars here. My family and I, my husband and our two young children visited this location expecting a pleasant meal, but instead, we were publicly humiliated by another customer over something as trivial as a parking spot. This individual went out of his way to call attention to us, creating a scene in front of all the other guests. What made this experience even more unacceptable was the way the manager handled the situation. Instead of addressing the disruptive behavior and ensuring a respectful dining environment for all customers, the manager claimed there was nothing they could do because it was a “customer-to-customer” issue. Rather than taking steps to de-escalate the situation or hold the offending customer accountable for their actions, the manager suggested that my family and I move to another table as if we were the ones causing the disruption. As someone with experience in restaurant management, I find this response completely unacceptable. A manager’s responsibility is to ensure that all guests feel safe and respected while dining. Allowing one customer to publicly humiliate another not only creates a hostile environment but also discourages families like mine from returning. No guest should ever feel embarrassed or unwelcome because of another patron’s behavior, especially when management has the authority to step in and set clear expectations for respect and decorum. I will be contacting IHOP’s corporate office regarding this matter, as no family should have to endure such an unpleasant and unprofessional experience at any of their locations. I sincerely hope IHOP takes action to better train their management team on conflict resolution and customer service to prevent incidents like this...
Read moreI have visited here before and had a great experience so I returned again today while my daughter was at volleyball practice. The food and service was fine but there was one thing that kind of deterred me from wanting to come back. As a single mom, there are moments I just need a little time to myself. I went to IHOP to order a free short stack of pancakes, sausage links and coffee. I only had a small amount of money but was in desperate need of some time to be able to sit and read a book and have quiet moment to myself. When the bill came it was almost exactly the amount of money I had on me and, sadly enough, I only had $1 left to tip the server (don't judge, I've given no less than $5 or 20% if it was more most of my adult life). I felt really bad about it, but right now with the economy and the financial struggles that I'm dealing with (since I don't get child support from my ex-husband) that's all I had to give. After I paid I stayed there to continue to read my book/enjoy time to myself... Unfortunately, I no longer felt welcomed and quickly left after listening to the server loudly (I had my airpods on) complain about the tip, my cheapness and others who have tipped less. It was very humiliating and an unexpected breaking point for me. I am writing this review just to make servers aware that if the customer is still in the restaurant, you should probably keep your complaints about them to yourself. You never know what someone is going through, they may have needed a moment of peace to avoid a mental/emotional breakdown. Be grateful for what you have and I promise God (the universe... whatever your belief) will bless you with more. I pray that server is blessed with great tips this evening although he was “The straw that broke the...
Read moreDecided to take my wife for a brunch here and was quickly reminded why we never come here anymore. We both ordered coffee around 11am, and after a while the waitress finally showed up with one cup and a pitcher. I asked her for my cup and she picks one up from another table which my wife had just witnessed her mistakenly pour for the customer right behind me, we place our order then as well. Now it turns out we had no utensils to stir in the sugar and creamer, so we had to wait about five minutes for waitress to come back to ask for some. After about ten minutes she finally shows up with one set of greasy utensils. I point it out and she says, "no, they're just wet". I showed her my finger print on the grease so she takes it back. Another 5-10 minutes and she comes back with two clean sets. By now, the coffee was room temperature, but to not keep bothering or to not seem too picky we both kept quite. We finally got our food, a breakfast sampler and an order of crepes at 11:46am but she had forgotten my pancakes, so another five minutes to tell her about it and another ten minutes to get them, they were also room temperature as the butter wouldn't even melt on them. My wife also said her crepes tasted of old oil so she didn't eat them. The couple beside us were also getting incorrect or missing food as well. They also asked for utensils twice that I heard. I don't think we are being too picky but if you want HOT coffee, CLEAN utensils and a good HOT meal id suggest to go somewhere else as you will be hard pressed to get this here in a timely manner. Oh, and did I mention the restaurant was less than half full. yeah, It will be a long time before coming back if ever as we both left in disbelief of their poor quality of service and highly...
