The Summit YMCA is a nice facility with plenty of options and worth the pricy membership if you take advantage of the plethora of options they have; however, the staff at the front desk is outright horrible, the type of people to be bluntly rude to your face but do it with a smile to seem nice. Also, it is very difficult to actively want to be a member here as a teenager. They are extremely strict with their waiver system and are just in generally fairly rude to kids. The staff members in the red shirts, I believe they are trainers, are very helpful and seem to know what they are talking about most of the time. They can also hold a conversation very well. If you are under 18 and try to come in for a guest pass don’t even bother, as the staff will likely be rude to you and put you through a long procedure and shun you for not even paying the hefty fee. The price of this gym for the customer service is not worth it beyond the high school age.

Read moreSo disappointed in the renovation. What was the weight room is now the children’s space along with another space for kids/family’s and a massive lobby. Yet the actual gym workout space was squished all together. They even added this monstrosity weeks later after reopening which continues to shrink the only open space. When this place is barely busy everyone is tripping over each other. If someone is using the squat rack near the corner stairs it’s dangerous to access the stairs without being hit in the head. And they’re raising the membership price again... So disappointed. I only come here because I can walk but certainly wasn’t a reason to keep me in town. Moving to another town and couldn’t be more excited to hopefully have a better Y....
Read moreA super disappointing "renovation"
What COULD have been the best gym in an unrivaled downtown location/building that has a major need for a great gym space. The renovation somehow shrunk an already cramped floorplan, moving free weights into a yet smaller room and cramming olympic equipment into a mixed cardio deck. An unnecessarily oversized lobby and always-empty mixed office area of segmented rooms (seriously, why?) now occupies what SHOULD and COULD have been a massive open floorplan area of machines, free weights, racks, etc with lots of light and space to move around. All of this on top of a premium price tag makes this YMCA one of the worst values, made worse by the absolute potential of this space. Major...
