Food Lion — Local services in Sunset Beach

Forget about curb side pick up, it is a bad joke at best. Because of the virus and me being of age we are following all the CDC guidelines so curbside pick up makes sense. Using the app we placed the order and after receiving the order ready text we notified the store we were on the way and notified the store when we arrived. Since it was raining pretty hard we decided to park outside the entrance near the To Go section. The app said 5 minutes for someone to deliver, but after ten plus minutes, I hit the app again and the message stated that there was no one to bring the merchandise outside and we had to go in, which defeats the purpose. Here is what burnt my toast. In the pick up area there were 3 employees just blabbing away with no one asking if they could help, so I grabbed my cart and walked out. They should take lessons from WALMART and PUBLIX which from now on, that even if they are out of the way, will be my go to. After pondering this simple method of delivery and the fantastic modern app, now I question the integrity of the store and their management because their customer service is not by no...

I, and a colleague of mine, bought a chicken salad sandwich at the Sunset Beach Food Lion store on Wednesday the 2nd of July. Within 24 hours, both of us were sick, from both ends (to be polite). It's obvious that, given it's summer and the door closest to the deli is opening much more often now due to tourists, that the cooler these sandwiches are displayed in is not able to keep the temperature low enough for safety. I'd suggest turning the temperature down or picking another place to display these sandwichs. As a former deli worker at another food lion store in Brunswick County, I feel I'm more than qualified to make this complaint and observation for the reason I've listed above. Blonde dude named Calvin checking ids at self checkout saying ids are fake even though we gave 4 real ids. All 4 of us are over 21 which is why we came to food lion together to buy alcohol. We are not that stupid to bring in a underage person with a fake id to get alcohol when we could have left him at home.. makes no sense why one of us would be underage. One of our friends who is over 21 came after that day to buy alcohol for himself, and once again Calvin denied selling alcohol to him and said his id is fake. Dude does not know how to do his job properly and should not be checking ids if he does not know the difference between a fake and a real id.
