Oh boy, let me tell you, folks, if you're looking for a place to strike up some family fun, Surfside Bowling and Arcade is the lane to be in! I'm talking the kind of place where you can bowl a turkey and not just the kind that gobbles at Thanksgiving, am I right?
Picture this: you walk through the doors, and it's like being welcomed by a glorious wave of nostalgia, mixed with the sound of bowling balls hitting pins and the sweet jingle of arcade games. You can almost smell the excitement in the air, along with the faint aroma of nachos and hot dogs—classic!
Let’s roll into the bowling alley first, where the lanes are smoother than my Uncle Bob’s dance moves at a wedding. They’ve got bumper bowling for the kiddos, which is a lifesaver for those little gutter-huggers. Plus, they have cosmic bowling nights where the lights go down, and the neon comes up. My wife and I were glowing like a pair of fireflies, and let me tell you, my game improved under the glow of the cosmic lights. Coincidence? I think not!
Now, on to the arcade—oh boy, it’s a real blast from the past! They've got all the classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and that claw machine that always teases victory but delivers heartbreak. But hey, it’s all about the thrill of the chase, right? My boys, Jaxon and Lukas, were in video game heaven, racking up tickets like it was their job. I tried my hand at one of those dance machines and, well, let’s just say I learned I’ve got two left feet, but I’m still the reigning champ in the family!
And what’s a day at Surfside without some food? The snack bar is like a little slice of heaven, but down on earth! Pizza, Nachos, and the coldest beer this side of the Rockies. If you stop by here, be sure to tell them that Dad sent you. Not sure what good it will do, but always worth it;...
Read moreWe called to make reservations for lanes because we had a large party we wanted to bring for a team bonding. Whoever answered the phone insisted we didn't need reservations on a Sunday. When we arrived there was a league tournament and we had to put our name on a list. They couldn't get us more than 2 lanes even though we had 30 people with us. They told us 30 minute wait, we waited an hour. They tried to tell us only 6 people per game but actually you can add 12. I mean sure it takes longer to get through a game but at least we were able to get all our kids added. Food was mediocre and the service was blah. It took 2 hours to play one game since they woulf only give us 2 lanes. They did refund us the money for the 2nd game without any problems so that is why they get a second star. We won't be back.... but...
Read moreAlways a joy to go to a place i went to when I was younger. The place has not changed much since then. But now i can take my children there. They have enjoyed hearing about all my stories from going there 20 years ago. I am glad the place is still opened. Sad some other places aren't still there to take them to at the Beach. This place is always full of laughter and fun. Families and friends finding a common ground in a competitive round of bowling. There is also the great food and the arcade for all to enjoy. Attached as well is the Brickhouse lounge. We play a game of pool, throw a game of darts and enjoy the big screens. We don't actually drink but for those who do they bar is there for your enjoyment. A great family place for all to enjoy in many ways. Will go there again and again when...
