We have vacationed in Myrtle Beach since the 90s and somehow have missed this gem until this year. After reading numerous reviews, we decided to try The Golden Egg for brunch. We arrived around 10:30 and given an estimated wait time of 25 minutes. Nearly on the 25 minute mark, we received a text that our table was ready. The food was fantastic. Quick service. Reasonable prices. We ordered The Barnyard, The Golden Egg Special, Reeseâs pancakes, and strawberry stuffed French toast. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day, a bit earlier. Given a 10-15 minute wait, yet again, text received spot on. That day we ordered the Carolina omelette, the Western omelette, and the Breakfast Wrap. My mom and I returned once more during the week; estimated 10 minute wait. We ordered the BLT and pancakes with a side of potatoes and bacon. Everything was fresh and delicious each visit. We will definitely make this a regular spot on future trips to Myrtle Beach.
I will warn that the Reeseâs pancakes are very rich. The taste is great, but hard to eat much of on their own. They are plain pancakes covered in peanut butter & chocolate sauce then topped with Reese cups.
The potatoes say they have Greek seasoning, and are cooked with peppers and onions. They are a must have and do appear to come...
Read moreWe decided to make a stop by the Golden Egg on the morning of our annual beach departure. My Aunt made the recommendation and we needed a breakfast redemption after have a horrible experience at Omega Pancake House (please avoid that place at all costs!). Golden Egg Pancake House did not disappoint and absolutely lived up to the hype that my Aunt was telling us about. It was a Sunday morning and I expected to wait at least an hour for a table but they were only running about 15-20 minutes for seating of a party of 4. The restaurant was huge and had plenty of seating. After being seating, we were immediately greeted and placed drink orders.
We enjoyed EVERYTHING we ordered and unlike Omega Pancake House EVERYTHING WAS FRESH! The food was delicious and exactly what we needed to fill our bellyâs and prepare for a 7 hour drive home. My mother loved her chip beef gravy and said it tasted exactly like my grandmothers. My boyfriendâs breakfast quesadilla was HUGE and packed with all the meats, and my scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage patties, and French toast was so tasty! The only thing we did not enjoy was the iced coffee.
Please make this a must go the next time you are looking to enjoy a fresh and filling breakfast. We will absolutely be back next year when weâre in town...
Read moreThis place was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and amazing, and the staff was really nice. It was a bit busy, but they were still quick and nice. And I can definitely understand why it's so busy. The food is AMAZING, and there are so many options to pick from. It was probably the best breakfast I've ever had! And it was filling, too! They do have some gluten free options, too, although their kitchen isn't 100% gluten free, and so some allergens might get in it. They do say this on their menu, and I was basically just rephrasing what they were saying. I also recommend trying their hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate is AMAZING, AND it's fancy to top it all off! It even comes with whipped cream in a fancy mug! I also recommend trying their sweet treats meal. You can choose to have three pancakes, one waffle, or a slice of French toast, and then you can choose a topping. The toppings are really good, and I'd definitely recommend trying the waffle with the s'mores topping. The s'mores topping adds graham crackers, a bunch of bits of Hershey's chocolate, chocolate syrup, and marshmallow syrup! It's so good! It's so good, if I could, I'd even rate this five MILLION out of 10. Five stars, and I would definitely recommend...
