My husband and I went on Valentine’s Day… he chose Family Barn according to the reviews… the place was clean the hostess was pleasant but our server was definitely rude… I normally get names and really wished I had listened when she introduced herself as our server… I ordered the red velvet pancake special nothing to rave about but would have definitely been better had she told me they put a chocolate drizzle on… mine came plain and after a few bites she mentioned this… well lady what the heck why didn’t mine have it?… she said oh I’ll take it back and put some on it.. if anything she should have brought some out to me and let me do it myself… I told her no thank you… after stopping by several (annoying) times to ask us how our food was she tried to engage in conversation (lady this was Valentine’s Day) I’m not interested in you joining in on our conversation… we were given the bill and my husband needed to get up to get some change… as soon as the waitress saw him get up she in an extremely loud and rude voice said “where he going?” she was behind me with another waitress doing something (which I believe was placing clean forks and knives in napkins) anyways I thought how rude!… what if he was looking for a rest room?… it doesn’t matter what he was doing it was NONE OF HER BUSINESS.. I was still sitting so she couldn’t have thought we were skipping out of paying our bill that is what she made us seek out to be… ANYWAYS terrible experience in the FAMILY BARN and WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.. and also I don’t recommend you ask for strawberries on your French toast.. my husband ordered the French toast and got ONE strawberry sliced extremely thin spread across his toast (they also gave him thin bread not what is used for French toast like the menu stated “thick” bread) for an additional $2.55… one strawberry for $2.55 extra and an additional charge on top of that for the whip cream?… We think of our Valentines Day breakfast experience at the FAMILY BARN as one we will...

The food and pricing was decent but some things were off. we ordered three sperate 1 meat 2 side platters for 9.99 those were good and worth the bang for your buck. You get a cornbread (amazing and sweet) or biscuit (unique, but not an entire biscuit you get two layers as if it were from a flaky biscuit. Then my husband ordered the BBQ mac, this is where I can make some suggestions....The portion was WAY to small to be serving this as the same price as the meat and 2 sides. This meal itself was more like a side plus a little extra it would be better if you either gave it two sides OR made it available as a premium side and charge someone 3 or 4 bucks for it. It was delicious, but does not warrant that price, we felt ripped off. He ended up ordering the meat and two sides after he finished it, and of course that warranted the price point. I decided to try dessert after my meal. Be careful how you advertise things. When I got apple crisp and asked if it was crumb topping and was told yes, I don't expect to receive apple pie with pie crust topping, and MINIMAL at that. The apple crisp is much different then...
