Plantation Pancake House — Restaurant in Surfside Beach

I Only give a 1 Star Rating because, while the Decor was Warm and Welcoming (Very Pretty!), the Food Appeared Top Notch!, and the Selection was well presented...the Waitress was Neglectful and the Manager/Owner was Downright Abusive-- You Judge.

We were seated and our waitress was Polite and Friendly. Nice. I order a Mimosa (low alcohol, light, refreshing and a.m. OJ!) and she asked if I wanted water and I told her "No, I'll take the coffee with cream". I order 1 egg scrambled Well Done with Cheddar Cheese--which I will be Paying Extra Money For!-- Liver Pudding (need some Iron!) and "Gluten Free Toast", with 1/2 cantaloupe that Hubby and I will share-- Yum!! Hubby ordered his meal, I asked for Sugar Free Jelly ("No Problem"), and she called back the order with "water with lemon": "No ma'am, I want coffee too", I say.

Okay, Pretty Clear, Right?!

This is #1: she arrives with: Mimosa, Coffee Cup for Hubby, and...Ice water with Lemon: Only. I figure: Hey, no big deal. Probably already Had enough coffee.

Then the cantaloupe arrives: Looks Scrumptious! Hubby carves into scoops☺ I went to the Ladies Room and washed my hands; Now: the food arrives....EXCEPT:

This is #2: No Cheddar Cheese--which I am paying Extra Money for! I note this after she walks away and the Manager/Owner...(I'm sorry, she never Introduced herself nor Gave her Name) l told her: "there's NO Cheese on these eggs...". She said "I can Fix that for You" to which I said "Thank You: I Appreciate That".

She takes my plate...with the Rest of my Warm Food(!)...and I Let her. Hubby says she should have just brought me a replacement separately. Come On: we've All Heard the Horror stories about what people Do to Food sent back...Now I'm Feeling Some Kinda Way. The "Sparkle" of Good Food and a Great Experience with my Beloved Hubby has been completely wiped away. So, I look carefully at my...Toast...

This is #3: No Sugar Free Jelly, as we had been told prior, by our waitress: would Be "No Problem".

So...the Manager/Owner brings back my plate, sets it down and States: "Sorry about the Eggs; your waitress Didn't Write it Down because You Didn't Tell her you wanted Cheese in your Eggs" and proceeds to turn. I responded, "Ma'am, may we please just Pay for Our Drinks and Leave?"

To which she proceeded to...LOUDLY!!...-Hate That!--BELLOW at Me: "Why are you Getting Such an ATTITUDE Over Cheese in Your Eggs"?

This is #4: EXCUSE ME?!?!?!$ Who, Precisely, Do You Think You Are Yelling At?!?

I simply....Lost It. I stood up, looked her in the eye and used Profanity I am Extremely Ashamed of using. She yelled "Leave Now" and Dramatically pointed to the door. I began leaving, the Loud Verbal Altercation continued..on both sides and Hubby has my arm and is Gently Leading me as he knows I am very frail healthwise. As a Matter Of Fact: this little getaway to Myrtle Beach was Vital and Necessary, in So Many ways.

I am Heartily Ashamed and as Every Head was turned to Observe, Hubby was trying to get me out before some A-hole decided to Record and Youtube my sorry butt. I am Most Chagrinned that children were Present. I have Never Been so Enraged in My Entire Life!

I am Publically Making Amends: I Heartily Apologize to Any--and Every--Single Person present, both Small and Large. To our waitress: REALLY?!? One of my early jobs was waitressing. I Know the Deal, honey.

And Most Definitely! (I Love Dessert, Best!😘):

Owner/Manager: I Sincerely Apologize for using Such Language with you. I was Not Raised that Way and my Father would Not be Proud of me. As for the Rest: if you Own this business and This is How you not Only Allow your Staff to be Neglectful, but You (yourself) Are Abusive, in the Extreme. If you are Merely the Manager: Shame on You. You Obviously have been in this position either Too Long or Not Long Enough. Don't Care Which, Truly; you are Toxic to this Business...

Wow, where do I start?. My best friend, Wife and myself came in for breakfast on 5-20-2018 were seated promply and greeted in a timely manner. Some of our drinks came out , one not at all. We started placing our food order and that is when the day went straight to Hell. My friend orders then my Wife then I pick an omelette I really wanted and asked if they would add mushrooms to the omelette or on the side our waitress then says "we can't make any changes. No you can't have that maybe you should just build your own, wait you know what let's ask this Lady she has been working here longer than I have." Next waitress walks over after she tells her I wanted a side of mushrooms, which I wanted to pay for, she then asked the first waitress do you not know what policy is, the policy is no there are no changes to be made to any orders it is to be written the way it is on the menu bottom line no changes what part of that do you not understand she then looks at me and says sir if you don't like what we have on our menu maybe you should do a build your own maybe take something different no we can't do that for you I'll look at this lady and I said ma'am all I needed to hear was no you didn't have to berate me and tell me 10 times that the answer is no she rolls her eyes turned around and walked away. And then the original waitress just put in my friend and wifes order she goes to computer types in my friend's order then comes back to the table and says oh yeah we don't have the food to make your wife's order you need to order something different hey how about just get this and then tells my wife to get something that she didn't want and wife like you know what whatever. I didn't tell the waitress I'm just going to have this cup of coffee and I'll be going. I've never been talked to, berated, talked down to the way I was Sunday morning in your establishment. I promise it's the last time I will ever visit that establishment and I promise I will tell everyone I meet how bad I was treated on that...

Our server Carrieanne was sooo kind..prompt and courteous..she works at the restaurant down the street from the Landmark Hotel.She spoke to us with respect and was willing to stop what she may have been doing to help us.I observed how she cleaned those tables to perfection and the floors..she did not half do her work...I complimented her on how well she cleaned.She stayed busy but not too busy that she couldn’t take care of her customers.She was pleasant and we enjoyed talking to her.We came from Summerville South Caroline to attend our Winter Retreat hosted by our church ..at the Landmark Hotel.We will definitely be eating at The Plantation House of Pancakes next year(....the Good Lord spears our life)..and we pray we see CarrieAnn again..The food was most delicious and hot..The coffee stayed hot and delicious too..This was our first time there..and we can’t wait to go back.God bless y’all for all that you all do..please give CarrieAnne a bonus and a shout out to the cooks as well..they did a marvelous job.I love ❤️ the atmosphere of the restaurant..bathrooms were cleaned and Presentable...The only thing that upset for a moment was when a another employee walked toward our table and blew her nose..that did punch an emotional nerve ..but otherwise..every thing else was alright.I just thought she could have done that somewhere else ..out of the presence of...
