Prime Storage — Local services in Surfside Beach

Recently we rented an outdoor space to store our motor home. Today I received a call from Annie letting me know while checking the property she noticed our door on the motor home was open. It was obvious after going over to secure it, we had not totally secured the door and it came open. I can't say enough good things about the employees at Surfside Prime Storage being helpful and accommodating. My wife and I highly recommend this location as a clean and secure storage facility. Thanks to Annie for being observant and promptly calling me.

We have been with Prime Storage now for four years and are highly satisfied with the facility and staff. We recently purchased a motor home and needed storage for it off site from our residence. We talked with Walter about our needs for a space and he gave us our options for the storage site which we ultimately rented. This is our second rental for this location and could not be more impressed with them. Walter was extremely helpful with the entire procedure. The facility is secure, clean and well maintained. There just aren't words to describe the kindness and (expedient) care Walter, with Prime Storage in Surfside Beach, SC, showed me and, by extention, my family, as we navigated some unusual circumstances in needing to pick up the contents of the unit we rented years ago when our mother passed away unexpectedly. He and Prime Storage's legal department received the appropriate legal documents by email and cleared our way in, what had to be, record time. I could not have been more appreciative. We are now able to close a painful chapter in our lives. Now, about having rented this unit for several years. We never had one moment of trouble with the unit or the company. No one has actually been to the unit in years, but when we were there, the grounds were clean as was the unit. Access was easy and there were carts for the interior units. We paid monthly by phone and found it to be very user friendly. I, likely, will not be back in SC and/or find myself in need of a storage unit in that area, but if I did, I would absolutely use Prime Storage again and I would not hesitate to recommend them to my closest friend. In May 2023, Prime Storage notified me of contractors trimming branches above my parked vehicle, necessitating its relocation. Since I am 400 miles away, I called someone to move the vehicle to a different location nearby within the storage gates. Weeks later, my vehicle was returned to its original spot. A month or two thereafter, Prime Storage informed me of a flat tire on my vehicle. I called someone to inspect the vehicle, it was found both rear tires were punctured by nails, with a 3-inch construction nail nearby spotted on the pavement, presumably from the tree-trimming contractors.

The manager, Walter, disputed these findings, claiming daily property checks found no such nails. However, my vehicle had been moved to accommodate the contractors, returning to a space with construction debris that caused the damage. Walter implied my contact who saw the debris was lying.

I continued to receive phonecalls from the office to get the tires fixed because their auditors weren't happy. From 400 miles away, I had to inconvenience my source to find a tire shop, buy a new tire and install it.
