I had a Cardiac Stress test at Jewish last week and it was a terrible experience! First of all, the entire facility is dirty, run down and in desperate need of remodeling. But worse than that, their staff is incompetent and their equipment is old and obsolete.
The tech performing the test didn't even know how to take my blood pressure. She put the cuff on my lower arm (below the elbow) to take it and then told me I had high BP (215/110). I told her that I never had high BP in my life and to take it again the right way this time and in the right place. She did and it was (110/65), HUGE difference there!!
Then, she proceeded with trying to hook me up to the machine. When she turned the machine on, she couldn't get it to work and had to go get someone else. The second person moved a couple of the patches around on my body and tried it and it still didn't work! They had to go get a third person to come in and re-hook me up. I'm not sure if it was the equipment malfunctioning, or if all three of the techs were as incompetent as the first one. I left feeling not at all convinced that the test was performed correctly or that the results would be accurate. That wasn't reassuring given that I've been having chest pain and that the test was important!
I was so mad when I finished testing, I went to their administrative suite to talk to a patient advocate. I asked her NOT to submit the test to my insurance company and told her that I wanted to have it redone at another location that I could trust. She said she was going to research this and get back with the the next day. It's been 5 days now and NO ONE has called. And, I just checked today, they did bill my insurance, so now I can't have it redone someplace else.
I would not recommend them to ANYONE, EVER!!! Having worked in healthcare for 30+ years myself, my advice would be go ANYWHERE BUT THERE and I will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly giving this two stars because the office staff are really great. For the Dr. Silverman and nurse Helen I would rate this is absolutely a negative star. Iāve been going to this place for five years now and had a great doctor. But now that sheās gone I got Dr. Silverman and I was doing fine on my medications because I have really bad aniexty but the last three months all of a sudden wants nothing to do with me. All she wants to do is hand me off to a psychiatrist which I donāt have time trying to find a psychiatrist and a therapist (and Iāve been looking and canāt do one with out the other) all while Iām in the middle of moving and having surgery. I just didnāt want to mess around my meds while all this was going down. So I called to get a refill on my medication or asked to be switched off them I got a phone call back from nurse Helen yelling at me and this was before I was told to find a psychiatrist she was just suggesting it apparently the staff doesnāt know what one hand is doing. After yelling at me it was apparently a misunderstanding but still you should never treat a patient like that. There was no reason for it whatsoever.
Down to the point horrible doctors have no idea what theyāre doing even if they are residents learning to be doctors. Theyāre sure are not there to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Jewish for surgery on my kidneys. I was referred as for follow up. The doctors and staff was fabulous and took great care of me. I went for my first appointment..... they sent me to a lab where I had a bunch of lab work done. I returned today. Well apparently they couldn't find my labs. 3 doctors came in and surrounded me and started to question me. The supervising doctor looked at me and said "Come on did you really go?" I felt as though he was calling me a lair. Felt attacked. Then he said you me..... "You have great insurance you can find a diffrent doctor" I left the office and went 4 blocks up to the lab and to inquire as to what happened. They informed me my results were right there. The doctor that ordered them didn't use the correct code to receive the results. They faxed the doctor the results. I went back informed them. Then went across the street to Jewish to report the doctors behavior to someone. A nice woman took down what happened and said she would be investigating...... Hopefully they will treat...
