I'd rate in the negatives if I could. -5 starts sounds about right for this place. Never ever coming back here again. Not only was the stores customer service horrible, the company is trash as well. When I lived in Florida, Ulta has always been my go to makeup store. I'm now in Cincinnati. I ordered a new rewards card since mine was left back home. The lady on the phone said it would arrive from 7 to 14 business days. A few days later I got paid and decided to go restock on my favorite foundation, a new blending brush and a Stila eyeliner. My experience was terrible. I have never felt the way I did while I was there. The girls gave me the dirtiest look but no greeting. So my boyfriend and I pay no mind to it and I continue looking around. That's when one of the girls finally approached us asking if I needed help finding anything. I politely declined the help I wanted to see what type of new product I might consider trying out. I'm browsing through aisles when about 10 minutes later my boyfriend whispers to me, I think they're following us. I agreed. Every time I would walk down one was either on the other aisle or peeking over to the one I was walking through. As if I was going to shoplift. Mind you I'm not Caucasian and I'm not African American either, we're Hispanics. I look Asian but my boyfriend looks mixed. I immediately felt uncomfortable and felt rushed out the store. Especially around the check out when I was looking at the travel sized items when the girl kept asking if we were ready with a horrible attitude. Honestly I wanted to drop all my items and leave but I didn't want my boyfriend to feel like we drove almost 30 minutes away for nothing. No fast forwarding to the card I had ordered. It's now been almost 3 weeks and still nothing. I hope it stays that way since I no longer will continue to shop here. I've been so bothered by it that still almost 3 weeks later I could not forgot to file a complaint. You can find me at Sephora across the street in the Kenwood Mall. I read all the other reviews as well, management needs to take action before this goes to a corporate level. Ulta Beauty is now...
Read moreI have never been to such horrible experience in my life. I called the salon last Friday 5/16/2018 to book an appointment for me and my daughters and she said okay and she took all my contact information. Then I asked if they have private rooms since I am wearing hijab and donât want to take it off in an open area where men can be around , and she said no it is an open area at the back of the store. I said then I will cancel my appointment and will only bring my daughters. Then she said okay see you at 2:30. I arrived on time the lady at the cashier was friendly and told me to go straight to the salon at the back. I went there and found the guy in the front desk , not sure if he was the one I called , he immediately said I booked you an appointment in deerfield at 3 oâclock. He said Sorry I just realized that I am a dude and canât do your hair. I said I have already canceled my appointment since you donât have private rooms ,I am here for my girls. He said there was miscommunication, I thought the appointment was for you. I said okay just do their hair ,because the salon was empty he doesnât have any customers . He said but I am a dude I canât do their hair. I said whatâs wrong with being a dude ?! They are still young and I am okay with that. He said I am sorry but I have booked you an appointment in mason. I said it is far from my place and I have gathering at 4. Why donât you just do it. He said I canât even finish them by 4. Just go to mason. I said why you didnât call me? He said I tried to call you but I couldnât reach you so I decided to wait until you show up. He said sorry again ,but really!! what can I do with his apology. He really ruined our holiday. I told the lady at the cashier and she said I am sorry let me call the manager. I waited for 3-5 minutes then I left when no one showed up. I didnât want to waste more time because I want my girls to be ready for our gathering in...
Read moreThis review is specifically for the salon at Ulta in Kenwood. I made an appointment two months ago with the salon because my hair was so incredibly damaged, thin, and brittle that I wasn't even sure my hair could be "saved". My stylist convinced me that it all just needed to be cut off and I needed to "start over" but I was leery of going short with my round face and incredibly thin hair. I let her do her thing and was incredibly impressed with how cute it looked. What surprised me was that she didn't try to sell me a specific tool or brand of shampoo/conditioner after the appointment but told me that I needed to look for certain ingredients in whatever hair care product I decide to use.
Fast forward two months later to my trim appointment with the same stylist who not only remembered who I was, but remembered how she styled my hair previously and matched it again today. I will continue to make regular trim appointments here and would gladly trust them to style my hair if I decide to grow it out again in a few years. In addition to the trim, I decided to get my eyebrows done at their Benefit Brow Bar. The stylist was wonderful, and took care to make sure everything was sterilized and that my face was clean before doing her routine. Instead of just cleaning them up, she actually shaped them perfectly for my face.
I give the stylists 5/5 stars, but Ulta Salon services are bit pricey with $25 for a trim (no wash/condition) and $20 for the brow service, and considering I would get both these services done every 2 months, the cost per year would really add up. I'd give the salon at...
