Food is good. It rarely disappoints, though the place is what it is. Steaks are MEH quality and just ok. Balance of the menu is very good. Server's attitudes and service is always nice and upbeat and we'll done. I always leave satisfied and happy.
ADENDUM: Unfortunate change to my rating. Wanted to get home for the Thursday night football game and arranged getting off a little early. Called to place an order since I was to be there just a few min. before close so they could have my order in the system and not be that irritating last second customer.. WIN WIN for me and TRH. Employee refused to place order because it was after 8:30. I explained my reasoning. She just repeated the broken record schpeel and said I can come in and place my order any time before 9PM.. Asked to speak with a mgr. was about a 7min wait and by that time it was 10 till. Mgr understood my point but said she was new and had to check with her mgr. Came back and said, No Problem. So I placed my order for a bone in ribeye, Baked pot. and side salad.. The cut of the steak was so unevenly cut it was Very thin at the top and VERY thick at the bottom. Ordered it Medium. The top was pretty much Med. Well and the bottom was Charred Rare at best. Baked potato tasted re heated and sweaty.. Salad was fine. I was at home and it was 9:20 at this point and just didn't have it in me to complain. I wanted to watch the football game. I ate the top 1/2 of the steak and my dogs enjoyed the bottom 1/2. I ate 1/2 the potato then gave up... It just was an awful bit of food for 30$. So dissapointing. I stopped being a regular after Ariel left. Such a loss to your restaurant. The bar service has never been the same. You guys need a lot of work. The Yee HAW is now an EEEEE GADS AMMWNDUM..... I'm done. Came in at 730 ordered prime rib. Made it very clear i wanted a center fut, med rare or i would order something elsem server went to kitxhen to check. Came back and said all good Meat came out med well and an end cut. Mgr came back with plate in hand saying at this time of night they dont have what i ordered. Horrid customer service. There could be NO MISTAKING MY REQUEST. SIMPLE solution was to tell the truth in the first place and let me order my 2nd choice. I will...
Read moreThe place was pretty crowded on a Friday night (to be well expected) and the wait wasn't too long. It took about 30ish minutes until we were seated. Right away the staff were dropping and breaking plates left and right.
The appetizer: We had a cactus blossom for a starter. The appearance was quiet small for the price and the sauce was different than what we usually get at Texas roadhouse. It tasted like it was ketchup mixed with tartar sauce.
The main course: My significant other ordered the 8oz sirloin medium rare with shrimp. Her steak was overcooked, it was well done, yet her shrimp were undercooked and chewy (super dangerous and a good way to get food poisoning) her green beans tasted like it came from a can.
I had the 12oz Ribeye rare, and with ribs. The ribs were overcooked and did not fall off the bone. The consistency was like shredded pork with Montgomery BBQ. It also only came with 3 ribs not even a half rack. The steak was well seasoned but not tenderized very well. Not juicy either. My baked sweet potato was pretty awesome. The loaded steak fries were good but NOT the bacon. It was like it came from the dog treat bag bacon and bits.
The restroom : Very nice and clean. Sanitized regularly.
Staff: The staff seemed very friendly and honest
The check: The pricing compared to our portion of food was very obviously overpriced, but you expect that at a decent steakhouse, especially the drinks !
In conclusion: I give this place a solid 3 stars, it can do a lot better, but overall isn't the most terrible place I've been too. If you're going out and want strong drink and Texan styled food, the one in Kenwood is better than those in Kentucky!
Response back to Owner: You did not let me down! You had a three star review. I always aim to help businesses in the restaurant industry achieve greatness with my reviews. Best of luck! My advice would be to sit down with your cooks in the kitchen and review how to properly prepare and cook good food. I understand when it gets busy, people get frustrated and want the food to be speedy, although sometimes it risks the integrity of the food. Keep up the...
Read moreI am not a fan of a place with a million video screens, all showing something different, none of them matching the music that was playing. There were also "christmas" lights everywhere, neon everywhere, in addition to the flashing video screens and loud music. There must be a reason why so many places to eat have gone for this model of overstimulation, rather than wanting to be a peaceful quiet place to enjoy good food with friends. Perhaps people are terrified of actually talking too each other? Afraid of being somewhere that doesn't seem like a hub of activity? I don't know. As far as our group was concerned, we enjoyed talking to each other, albeit having to shout at each other to be heard, and having to literally stand up and wave to each other or the server in order to be seen. Steaks were done correctly. Not as hot as could be, but then this was a large party. Steak fries were not fresh. Ceasar salad was average. We brought our own celebratory cake, which was brought out to us, at an appropriate time, but could have been unboxed and presented as if we were in.... well .... a restaurant. Also, the little automated "pass this little thingy around and pay your bill" managed to read my card, and charged me two different charges, one for $1.50 and one for $2.50. One of my friends who stayed a bit later called me on my way home to say that my bill wasn't paid and someone else had to pay it. So, I made arrangements and paid that person back, but this total of $4.00 in unexplained charges remains on my debit card. Texas Roadhouse does not answer their phone until 3:00 pm when they open, so it will be a while before this is resolved. If you were able to charge my card, why didn't you charge me for the check I was paying, instead of these two odd little charges? Why is the server (nor any staff member) involved in the check payment process? I have to subtract server points for this. Finding out about an error in your system while driving home is........
