i love to shop TJ Maxx stores. This TJ Maxx is Very clean, but not to big of selections, but its fine. The BIGGEST downfall & shock, was I went into this store for the very 1st time, being from out of town, & it was NOT busy due to a week night at around & 7:45pm. NOT 1 person (employee) said a simple "HELLO", even when I was the only 1 around out of probably 15 ppl., in the store, (if that). I was greatly disappionted. Its not that i need recognize, But i have travel alot, so one of my favorite shopping pass times is to find a TJ Maxx, & shop. I have NEVER been into one that Literally NO ONE says a word to you. Like I said, Its not like they were busy. So I just chalked it up to nothing that night. The day I was out & about again, & for Kicks, I went back into the same TJ Maxx, & same thing! I finally said Hi to an employee, ( basically to see if they would respond), She said HI, & just kept walking, & SO hey, I figured, I can just go to another TJ Maxx & shop there instead. I walked in & about 5 employees, throughtout my 1 1/2hr shopping there, were VERY kind, even asked If they could help me find any something. I Said No Thank you, but I Knew now that the OHIO TJ Maxx people do talk to their customers. Last night, a Saturday, I ran back into the TJ Maxx store, wanting to buy something fast, & the one store that was right by my, was the one that no one says a word to you, but whatever, So, I ran in & The NICEST lady "Bertie" (at the Jewerly counter) was the !st person to say Hello & asked if she could help me find anything. I was alittle shocked, being a saturday, & busy they were, I said Hello, & decided to buy a piece of jewelry there, REALLY due to her Kindness. I told her, SHE was the first person to say Hello & even went so far to ask, if she could help me find that special, i was loooking for. Then After Bertie, another Lady, I think possibly a manager, came over & said hello & helped me too. AMAZING. Thanks to YOU Bertie, Ill rate this store. PS... I had been at the jewerly counter both times before, with no Hello. So Thank you Bertie, for being in customer service. You ARE the people who should be working with the public. YOU WERE AWESOME! ...
Read moreI usually have a great experience here but tonight changed my mind about that. I had to return a purse where the strap broke the first time I used it. First the good: I was able to return it.
The bad was unfriendly, unprofessional and rude employees I had to deal with to do so, both cashier and manager. They commented loudly about how it was dirty. Yeah, because the damn thing broke and landed in the streets of downtown, and I wasn't wasting my time to wash a purse I wasn't keeping. Then I guess when they figured out they had to reluctantly take it back, they met anything I said with silence, grunts or mmm hmm.
When I went to leave I hear the cashier hand the purse to someone else and say "This just needs to be...yeah...just look at it....ugh". Yeah, it's a dirty broken purse just freaking toss it out! No need to be snide about it.
I left overall pretty frustrated and kind of angry. So I wouldn't necessarily tell people not to go there but just hope you encounter the...
Read moreCame in to pick up one thing 30 minutes (9:30pm) before close, just needed to run in, grab a gift, and check out. A very rude woman (name something like kelley or Shelley, very rudely informed us they were closed and we needed to leave. I double checked the time online to Make sure it was in fact open til 10pm; but she insisted they were closed and we needed to leave. She even tried to turn away people in line for a return. I have worked retail and I totally understand, last minute before close shoppers can be annoying, but we truly needed to grab one thing on our way out. Everything from her tone, stance, attitude was poor, and I can’t imagine TJ Maxx would be okay with an associate or manager turning away paying customers during business hours. We came from almost 2 hours away to enjoy the convenience of Marshall’s, home goods, and TJ Maxx all together. And we won’t be back if they will...
