My favorite sandwich is The Wreck. Delicious. Sandwiches come in 3 sizes, and I find the "skinny" (smallest size) to be quite adequate. My personal preference is their whole wheat bread, but the white is good. Usual toppings are free (lettuce, mustard, onions, tomatoes, oil, Italian spices, pickles, etc.). Extra charge for other toppings like bacon and avocado.
A variety of individually portioned sized bagged chips, including spicy varieties.
The chocolate milkshakes are always a big hit with my family. They also serve soups, which we have never tried. Next time, I'll get the broccoli cheese.
Soda pop and iced tea are self serve and all-you-can drink. There are also specialty beverages in a separate cooler.
Overall, prices are fair.
Atmosphere is eclectic, based on turn of the 19th century decor. Every store always contains at least one antique pot bellied stove. Regular tables and chairs, along with some high-top tables, are adequate. No booths at...
Read moreWe were traveling through the area and saw this restaurant while looking for food that wasn't fast food (i.e. McDonald's, Burger King, ect.). We have one where we are from and decided to stop. The restaurant smelled fantastic and was super clean. They did mess up my sandwich, but they caught they mistake instantly and were ridiculously nice about remaking it. Normally people get annoyed if they have to remake my food, which happens a lot since I have food allergies and muscle memory in the food service industry can be a problem (happens to me all the time at my job lol). But the staff was absolutely amazing, especially since the power went out as soon as they handed me my sandwich. I ordered a soft drink but wasn't able to get it now. They gave me a free bottled drink, surely more expensive than what I ordered. I would absolutely recommend this place to locals and travelers alike!!! If I'm ever back in this area, I will ABSOLUTELY...
Read moreStopped in for the first time in probably 15 years- thought I’d give it a shot . After looking at the very-difficult-to-navigate allergen menu online , I asked a question to double check the sandwich didn’t contain my allergen . It did ! The online allergen menu is NOT reliable - be very cautious if you have a severe allergy like mine. Asked if someone could help me locate a sandwich without my allergen - was ignored ! Asked if the bread had my allergen - was ignored at first, then one employee checked and told me (without making eye contact and barely audible ) the “multi grain has egg” (didn’t bother to check the other options or make a recommendation ). Other employer recommended I eat a salad …no thank you , came to a sandwich restaurant for a sandwich . Super disappointed to see the lack of customer service and concern for allergens is still a thing in 2024- so many people need to know what is...
