I've started F45 Training New Tampa after many years of doing resistance strength training protocols in a traditional gym setting. What a refreshing change!
F45 Training combines traditional bodybuilding exercises with functional ones that have you move in various ranges and planes of motion, which produce a hybrid strength/metabolic effect. It is both muscle building and metabolism raising.
It's not prone to induce injuries like cross fit, and the coaches are there to guide you and correct your form. And you can work at your own pace and with your own level of resistance challenge. Another good point is that you never have to do your own programming. You just show up and work.
The pace is hard to keep up with at first because there is little rest between sets and most exercises target the whole body. Which is a far departure from most traditional gym environments.
Within a few minutes of training, your heart rate accelerates, you perspire, your muscles begin to fatigue. But for some crazy reason, you want to go back the next day.
You may want to go easy on the weights for a few weeks until you become used to the programming. But as time goes on, you'll quickly be able to add weight, especially on the strength-focused days.
The atmosphere is great. Really pumping music. It's social. You work with a partner, and there's really a sense of being part of a team, which seems to be a key part of F45 philosophy.
I haven't been to other F45s. But this one is fire. The coaches are motivated, encouraging, and purposeful in their instructions. It shows that they are authentically engaged and passionate.
I'd recommend anyone with the fitness goals of losing fat, getting conditioned like an athlete, and building a moderate amount of muscle mass...

Read moreI love this F45 gym. The coaches there are amazing. I mostly train with coach Ryan during the morning(s), & he's just wonderful, an all around great individual. He recognizes everyone's progress, pushes and motivates each of us. (He's perfection). I've also had the privilege to train with coach Tevin and James. Tevin, is a laid back coach, he's not all in your face, but watches from a short distance, helps you if/when needed and he doesn't hover (which is a great thing lol) he's very good motivating thru words. Coach James is very active (lol) if you want a coach that's going to show you the techniques & get on the floor do the exercise with you to pump you up he's definitely it, he just has great energy!
