I donât even know where to begin. I am so incredibly disappointed and frustrated with my experience at AMC Highwoods 20 tonight, I feel compelled to leave this review as loudly and clearly as possible: DO BETTER! Letâs talk about the kitchen â or should I say the hangout lounge for staff who donât feel like working. I brought my kids here to enjoy a late showing of Final Fantasy, expecting to have the full movie theater experience, including some actual hot food. But nope, thatâs apparently asking too much. Despite the fact that there were PLENTY of employees standing around, laughing, talking, and clearly having a good olâ time in the kitchen corner, they just flat-out decided not to serve hot food. Not because they were out of it. Not because the equipment was broken. No. Just because, and I quote directly: âWeâre not serving hot food at the moment.â Why? Because the cooks just didnât feel like cooking. Excuse me, what?! You have customers, you have food, the kitchen is OPEN, and there are still movies starting â the final showings hadnât even begun â but somehow it's perfectly fine to cut off food service just because someone didnât feel like doing their job. This is exactly whatâs wrong with movie theaters these days â zero pride, zero effort, and zero accountability. Iâm almost certain corporate AMC has no clue that the kitchen at this location effectively shuts down at 10:15 Pm when there are movies still beginning at 10:45 PM.People are still coming in, paying full price for tickets, expecting a complete experience â and instead they get whatever scraps the staff feel like offering before they mentally clock out. To make matters worse, this place was not clean. If youâre coming to a late showing, brace yourself â the energy is âjust let the customers deal with it.â Trash bins are full, restrooms are questionable, and you can feel the whole staff counting the minutes until they get to go home. No sense of urgency, no sense of customer care. Now, Iâll give credit where itâs due: the VIBE of the theater is actually nice. It has that nostalgic, old-school movie theater feel that you donât find much anymore, and thatâs honestly the only redeeming quality of the place. But what good is atmosphere if the service feels like itâs being run by people who couldnât care less? Bottom line: AMC Highwoods 20 has potential, but itâs being completely squandered by lazy staff and careless management. If you plan to come here, come early, because after 10 PM, youâre on your own. And donât expect hot food â unless you get lucky and someone in the kitchen decides theyâre in the mood to actually do their job. Disgraceful and...
Read moreIf I could rate this a zero I would. I bought tickets on 9/24 to watch the nun 2. I walked into the theatre 12 and it was a complete mess, nothing was cleaned up and my friend sat on a dipping dots container and there was trash everywhere. Then not even thirty minutes in the manager named Mindy came at us yelling in the movie asking for our tickets. I told her to wait so I can show her my tickets and she responded with no you can get out right now or I will get security. She then got security and I talked to the security and explained that I had my tickets and that she did not give us a warning and immediately wanted to kick us out of a horror movie. I asked if I could get a refund since she had kicked us out less then 30 minutes into the movie and the security said he will ask. She then came back and gave us more attitude and proceeded to say she will not give us a refund and if you donât leave right now I will call the cops. I waited to explain to the cops what happened no cops showed up. Another associate came to us and warned us to leave and that there will be no refunds and I tried to explain to him but he just ignored and said to leave. The manager Mindy kept coming back yelling at us and then walking away whenever I tried to speak to her my story. Since it was not our fault for the noise but the group of people next to us. But she choose not to care and really was not giving the best customer service. As someone who works in retail if I was in her place doing that I would have been fired, what she did was unacceptable because she came at us yelling with attitude when i tired speaking to her calmly she would walk away. At the end we basically got our money stolen from since we didnât even complete more then half the movie. Clearly, someone has a temper and...
Read moreI went last night to see the long-awaited Killers of the Flower Moon directed by the acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. Unfortunately, I had quite a poor experience completely unrelated to the phenomenal picture I watched.
This theater does not properly ID minors who are buying/redeeming tickets for R-rated movies. An attendant told my friend that she should ID him but wouldn't. Because of this, there was a group of teenage girls with no guardian present during the movie who were behaving obnoxiously. For an hour and a half, they were on their phones and loudly talking. When they finally left they caused such a disruption that I lost my focus during one of the most emotional scenes of the movie. Perhaps 2 hours later, after the had movie ended, I saw them loitering at the front with their friends with no staff present.
Before the movie started, the projector was also not working properly. My friend informed one of the workers who told him it would take 5 minutes for the projector to actually work. Even though the movie was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., it did not start until 8 p.m. (Keep in mind this is a 3.5 hour movie.)
If you want to watch a well-made movie in a well-run theater, I would not in good conscious recommend this establishment. If you want a daycare for your undisciplined children, I can think of no...
