Update: After seeing Modani’s response you might assume that they resolved the issue but you would be wrong.
I was contacted by a customer service representative and they scheduled a delivery on 2/5. After taking the day off work and not hearing from anyone, I was told they put the delivery under the wrong city (Miami instead of Tampa). I was assured a new corrected order would be placed and another delivery was scheduled for 2/13. If you think that is where the story ends you and I would be in for more disappointment. After not hearing from anyone AGAIN I contacted Modani only to be told that the truck broken down and they would not be able to make the delivery.
At this point I requested a refund. I was told one would be issued once they scheduled the pickup of the damaged tables. Two weeks later, I have not heard from anyone at Modani so my next choice will be to work this dispute through my credit card company.
Again, they sell nice merchandise so you just need to pray you don’t have any issues because contacting them by phone is near impossible. The WORST customer service experience EVER!!
Original: I have purchased multiple furniture pieces from Modani but my recent experience with them will likely be my last. I received a damaged table and have been trying for weeks to contact them to either get a refund or replace the item. I have called them at least 10 times and contacted them via email with no luck. Read moreMy family and I recently moved into a newer, modern-styled home in South Tampa and were eager to find furniture to outfit it. We decided to finally check out Modani after seeing its distinctive storefront on Dale Mabry countless times during our time here in the area. When we arrived, we were promptly and warmly welcomed by the staff there. On that first trip, we were interested in a few pieces but decided to leave empty-handed in order to shop around before committing to anything.
However, we ultimately liked Modani's Bergamo line of extended sectional sofas the most for our living room so we returned to the store to see it in the showroom again. One of the sales/design consultants, Dana Vargas, remembered us and was very welcoming. She maintained prompt and cordial contact with us during the purchasing and delivery scheduling process, not only in-store but also via phone and text.
Even after finalization of the sale, Dana was extremely helpful when a situation arose that prompted modifications to our order. She was friendly and compassionate throughout the process which was very reassuring to us since this was our first experience with such an investment in designer furniture.
Overall, we are very satisfied with Modani, their furniture, and our experience with working with Dana. Though they can certainly be pricier than other options, the amount of care and attention during (and even after) the buying process made the difference worthwhile to us. Read moreConsidering the amount I spent for a master bedroom set, I feel jilted. The nightstands never came in and was told two months later they are unable to find that specific item. After multiple calls, I was finaly refunded for the nightstands, but unfortunately have been unable to get a return on the dresser. I now have a $1000 dresser without the matching set. After many attempts and promises that customer service will call me, they have never called. When I call, I'm told I have specific person who is handling my case and will be calling me. Unfortunately after 3 months, they win simply by ignoring me.
One year follow up. I came across add for the same nightstands that i was previously told was discontinued. As I am stuck with the matching dresser with three broken drawer rails, I decided to consider buying the nightstands so at least I had a matching set. I spoke to employees at the dale mabry location and expressed my concern of purchasing damaged items. I requested to have the tables delivered at the store so I can evaluate before taking home. They required full payment. I asked if I would get full refund if I see any damage and decide not to take home. They explained I would have to work directly with corporate to get refund.
