Walk-In Care — Local services in Tawas City

Primary care giver didn’t have an appointment available for literally 30 days. Was told to go to the walk-in. While not convenient I decided to go after work - 3 pm.

Wife sent me a screenshot that said they were open until 3:30. Went to the website which said they were open until 6 pm. Called and an answering machine which you cannot leave a message on said that they were open until 5.

There was a live chat which when I clicked is was number 96. After waiting for 82 minutes, the person finally told me that the clinic WAS open until 6. This is a Tuesday afternoon.

Drive down right after work and arrived to an empty parking lot and a closed sign.

Long story short went on line made an appointment for walk-in in West Branch on line. 40 min later I showed up to a bright clean facility. Within 20 min of arrival I had seen the nurse, dr. AND had a chest X-ray and a pneumonia diagnosis.

Huron Shores and Tawas St Joes has a lot to work on. Unless you are taking your least favorite relative and in line for a big inheritance...

I usually have a decent experience here, but today made me never want to come back. As I was getting my vitals checked I could hear the nurse practitioner loudly speaking horribly about me and other patients, complaining about us, and insinuating most of us there weren't actually sick with the illnesses we thought we had. She did this right across the hall with another worker. I do not wish to get into specifics with what she said about me but it was humiliating and dehumanizing. When I was finally seen she treated me like an idiot. I wish I could remember her name but I was so upset I didn't pay close attention. I cannot recommend this place anymore and people like this should not be nurses....

Took my son here, WITHOUT copy of insurance cards because we were out of Towner's. Moved up here & brought my daughter for strep throat & they refused to see her without insurance copy's, woman at the front desk was absolutely rude & told me I would have to pay out of pocket because she was to lazy to look her up. Crossed the street to go to the hospital witch both are LINKED and they had no issues looking her insurance up. If you don't like your job,...
