After the passing of our beloved Shih Tzu Lola, and after my Husband was diagnosed with a high risk brain cancer we came out to AZ to be treated and to get some escape from the difficulties we had been facing. It was a difficult surgery, and we stayed out in AZ for multiple weeks. At the hospital, the OM on my husbands case has teamed up with a local dog breeder and also offers "puppy therapy" as a way to help the others on the ward. It is amazing. After overseeing my husbands release, and guiding us through the surgery and seeing how he responded to the therapy, our OM at Mayo suggested that a new family member would help stimulate my husband and help with the post op depression. He was spot on. He recommended the Arrowhead mall as he told us he had worked for the company, and gave high praise and information about the breeders.
After visiting arrowhead we were unimpressed with the selection and staff so after looking through the website and giving them a second chance, found our new shih Tzu baby Ace here at Arizona Mills! Tyler/Mark helped us out and were awesome, they were kind the staff were all alert and well spoken. Thank you Animal kingdom, Tyler and the state of AZ for helping save my husband and matching us with a perfect companion!!! They were both phenomenal, on point and truly cared about the puppies. The information we were given was super helpful, we felt comfortable and not pressured, and the place was clean. Exactly as the company was described by our OM.
Currently Ace is running through our farm out here in Minnesota and we have never been happier. Thanks to everyone who was involved in our decision. Amazing place to add a new family member. We have told all of our friends about this place as we wouldn't have even known about it! Though this review is dense, everyone and anyone looking to add a puppy needs to come to this company. They really care about the whole picture and look to match you with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend and I had the worst experience at this pet store. We went in to see some cute puppies for fun. I noticed all of the strange pieces of paper with peek holes in them covering up some of the puppy kennels. I turned to one of the employees, a bald man with a beard, who soon went off on a disturbing political monologue about possibly being shut down by the City of Tempe. He started telling us about his 12-year-old autistic daughter, saying that if he were to get a dog from the pound it would likely be a pit-bull and if it hurt her he would "snap the dog's neck in half". I'm not sure what his connections were when he started ranting off about other things like if his daughter were to be raped by the principal of her school and how important abortion clinics are, but both my friend and I were extremely uncomfortable. We stood there in awe while this went on for about ten minutes.
Personally, my family has always rescued sweet, beautiful, and unique mixed breed dogs from county shelters and the Arizona Humane Society (if you go into these places you can see how badly so many dogs just want a second chance at a happy life). For this reason, I thought it was a cheap, low blow for this employee to be bashing shelters just to keep his own business from going under. It only made me feel stronger in my belief that we should look to dogs who need saving before we willingly give our money away to the capitalistic venture of puppy breeding. (By the way, out of the four dogs who we have adopted from shelters, three are retriever mixes and one is a collie...no pit-bulls and all have been beloved, gentle, calm members of our family!)
We left feeling horribly creeped out and worse than ever...just the opposite of how one should feel after leaving a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: if you see puppies panting.. they are puppies who run themself tired.. Every single kennel has a vent that keeps them cool.
Donāt listen to the ignorance of people who refuse to be educated but would rather just complain despite not knowing anything .. itās easier to complain and be mad than it is to be educated. be Careful for the reviews of ignorant people who have nothing else to do.
Original:
Whoever says this place is a puppy mill, or the animals are being mistreated and not cared for.. has done zero research on this place. Are there pet stores that are tied to puppy mills? Yes. Does that mean all of them are ? No
This place is so transparent with how it does itās business, only ignorant people who just want to be mad at something have an issue. The breeders are regularly inspected. The company owners personally meet with breeders. The store has an entire team of Vet Technicians in the back (that you donāt see) that care for these animals all day every day. This company has an entire Vet Care Center to treat any animals that have any sort of issue. The staff plays with, cares for, and helps keep the area clean for all the puppies.
If you need any sort of proof or reassurance, ask one of the staff members anything. They are happy to educate !!
All the breeder info can be found online as well.
Like i said, any person who says this places abuses or mistreats these animals or claim these are puppy mill puppies.. are flat out ignorant and have done zero research and only want to complain for attention and not be educated because then theyād have nothing to be mad about.
Incredible place, will recommend it to anyone who wants a pure bred puppy.
Do not listen to a single negative review. If you are still unsure ⦠go see...
