Right off the bat, I wish I could give this store a negative 10! Because the 3 times I have visited there have been absolutely terrible...mainly customer service. The first time I visited, was their grand opening. What a joke! The second time, I went with a friend to give it a second chance. That experience was worst than the first. Do the employees grasp what customer service is supposed to be? The third and final time, (June 5, 2016) I went in to return a dog harness ($18.99). I had the receipt but had purchased it at a real PetSmart (where they understand the value of superb customer service). But I was near this pitiful store so I took a big chance stepping foot in there again. My mistake, I guess. When I handed the cashier the bag with the harness & receipt he asked if I wanted to exchange it for another one. I told him, no thank you that my husband had already purchased one. I told him I just wanted the cash back. He then asked if I had the debit card. I showed it to him. I again told him I wanted cash back. He proceeded to tell me that "they " prefer to put it back on the card I used. It's a flippin debit card. I should have the option for the cash or put it back on my card, as the customer, whether I purchased it at that store or the better PetSmart. To avoid any further frustrations I gave him my card and my card was credited. He ended with only saying, "have a good day". He didn't tell me it would take 24-72 hours, grant it, I knew that but he should have told me. I left that store feeling upset. However, this story gets worse. After 10 minutes of sulking in my car, I went back in and immediately asked for a manager. After waiting a good while, a man walked up to me....without introducing himself, he seemed quite irritated that he had to be bothered. As I was explaining my situation, I peeked at his name tag. His name was Mark. If you see a man named Mark in that store be prepared to be treated like crap. He was extremely rude. This man should not work with human beings, being that he is not one, let alone be a manager. He had so much rage. Dang. He did nothing to help me. Didn't even try. This store has got to be the worst store of any kind anywhere in the whole world!! I highly recommend staying away from this store unless you like being treated like a...
Read moreMy fur baby was getting ready to have surgery, and I was stressing out. Im one of those weird people who's dog is their child.. lol. I wish I could remember the guys name who was so kind and spent so much time with me. I want to say his name was Josh. Tall guy with curley hair I believe... Anyway... I was super nervious about my fur baby being on bed rest for a good 4 to 5 weeks. And restricted activity for a full 14 weeks. She is a rescue and has a history with being put in a metal kennel.. and has worn down teeth from chewing trying to get out. He went into great depths about the different calming products, such are pheromone products, collars, sprays, toys ect... Also gave me ideas on things I can do to keep her mind occupied when she is created.. I was very impressed of his knowledge of all his products.. he also made a good point that a soft-sided kennel might be a better option for crating my dog ( he was right) , even though they didn't carry them there, he listed a few other locations that did..I was able to get what I needed and then go get my kennel, and I completed my shopping that day.. it was one less thing to stress about. And I really appreciated that. There was another nice gentelman that helped me prior to Josh, that was great to, he was running the register. Seemed to me all the staff I met was knowledgeable. I made one more trip the day before surgery, and was greeted by yet another kind and knowledgeable young blonde girl.. who though I'm sure it was annoying to talk about dog bowls that won't flip over and Kong toys at the lengths we did... Lol.. she helped me pick out bowls that my dog's ''anti lick'' cone could fit around, and that I felt comfortable putting in the kennel. She then took the time to help me find a Kong that was the right size and gave me ideas on how to use it to keep my girl stimulated while cooped up... I guess my experiences stood out to me because of how stressed out I was over my dogs serious surgery and they just made that part a bit easier.. I'm now finishing out day 2 of recovery with my dog.. and I'm glad I had the employees that helped prepare me. Thanks. I wish I had all of your names so you could get credit. If I get them I...
Read moreI used to be an avid shopper at Petsmart, but a variety of factors, such as significantly higher prices on general pet supplies and having to travel too far to find a location put a damper on that.
I was thrilled when this one opened up closer so I could buy new collars, toys, scratchers, and treats for my cats, but my experience today might have just put the nail in the coffin when it comes to shopping PetSmart.
I went with my 5 year old to pick out toys and scratchers. The trip actually started off well. The staff overall was friendly (the reason 2 stars and not 1) and we were asked over time by multiple staff members if we needed help. They were friendly but not overbearing or pushy.
When checking out I had 2 scratchers that he excitedly picked out and had been labeled buy 1 get 1 half off, but one rang up as $0.01 (one with snowflakes) and I was told by the cashier that I could not purchase the item because it should not have been on the shelf, and they had to destroy it. So instead of letting me purchase that color and style my now very disappointed child picked out, because the mistake was the store's, I was asked to pick another one to purchase. Not only is this a poor policy on Petsmart's end, but wasteful as well (to destroy product instead of sell it).
We did not end up purchasing any scratchers as a result, and if I had more time to get litter elsewhere I would have left without making any purchase. Needless to say I doubt I will be giving Petsmart another try...
