Would give the place 3 stars but the staff went above and beyond for me. First off let me say, I dig Sonic. The shakes are amazing and the food is always awesome. The reason that I refuse to give it four stars or five stars on its own is because they constantly change their menu. For a long time they had the western bacon cheeseburger toaster. This gastronomic delight of scrumdiddlyumptiousness served between two slices of golden Texas toast consisted of all of the things that are so bad, but taste so good! Meat, cheese, dripping gobs of BBq and Ba-freaking-con. Not to mention onion ring
When they start using the side dishes as a condiment... You know you got a winner.
But alas. Sonic decided that it didn't warrant a place on the permanent board.
Soul crushing to say the least, but tere's always a backup.
I can always feast upon a dog the way God intended it to be made. Drug through the garden! Yet once again, Sonic has moved on. To introduce...tiny hot dogs?! How can you get rid of Chicago dogs?!! Hot dogs are pretty much poor people food anyway so you got to squeeze every freebie you can out of them in order to fill up your belly. Sauerkraut and hot mustard ain't going to work.
The Stanford Sonic was awesome and was generally apologetic about the menu but they were willing to open up those tiny packets of BBQ sauce and dumped them on to my burger for me. So they won the owner a fourth star.
But I got two words for you Sonic... Secret menu. Make sure your managers know how to make items that have been taken off the board just in case someone requests them. Because it's interesting that a Sonic manager in San Diego was willing to build me the western bacon cheeseburger toaster as long as I gave him the recipe, even though it had never been served in that area because it was Regional, but someone who was probably working at Sonic when it was still on the menu remained...
Read moreI generally avoid leaving scathing reviews, but my experience today was simply the WORST customer service I've ever had! Any previous day, and I would've left a perfectly fine review for this Sonic. I regularly frequent this location, and have never had any issue with the quality of food, or the service, but today's experience will ensure that I will never return to this location again!
The person who took our order (who ended up being the Manager) was abrupt and abrasive right from the start. She was yelling through the system, and was as impatient as you can get! (We already had our order prepared - there wasn't any wait, or long pauses... only brief ones for her to get the order in). At the end, she made a mistake with the total (it was too high), which she quickly corrected, but as we paused and wondered to ourselves if our new total was correct, she was apparently still listening in, and made a series of condescending and degrading comments. After she patronizingly yelled a review of our order along with rounded up prices, and we commented, "okay that makes sense," she continued her attack. "Oh, what makes sense? Your order? Your order price makes sense?" I asked for the total so I could swipe my card and end this experience, but she wouldn't relent, and took it as another opportunity to snub us. Annoyed and ready for a simple outing which turned into an ordeal to be over, and trying to turn things around, I wished her a better day (assuming she was just having a bad day), and she replied with an entire change of voice and tone to the fakest gleeful-sounding voice ever!
This used to be a great location, but management needs to get rid of her or put her in her place if they want...
Read moreMy partner and I used to frequent this location and we’ve noticed a very steep downhill in service. We previously ordered on the app and waited over an hour for our order of mozzarella sticks. And when we received them, they were cold. We were upset and haven’t visited this location, or any Sonic location, since. But we do DoorDash on the weekend as a side hustle. We arrived at 10:15pm and have been actively waiting for them to bring someone’s order for over an hour. It is now 11:33pm, We’ve spoken to multiple employees. All of which said the food would be right out. We initially thought there were only two people working as there were only two people running the food. But when I got up to stretch my legs, I saw there were six people working. Most of which were messing around and talking to each other. The manager was joking around with staff and wasn’t focused on providing the food we’ve been waiting an hour for. Nor was she in a rush to bring anyone their food. We’ve seen cars come and go but we haven’t received our customers food. This isn’t fair to the person who ordered. They ordered a drink and a dessert. Nothing too hard for six people to handle. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen (as someone who managed a fast food location.)
