Excellent underrated gem that everyone should stop by and see. This is the only laser museum in the US. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside there was a quite a bit to see. There were about 4 rooms. The first room has some of the older equipment used to make lasers. Then there's a room on the left side that has some historical image and other laser machines. On the right side room, there's lasers that were used for medical imaging, and they have some holograms you can place on the screen. In the back room, there's a huge laser machine, and there's actual holograms you can look at. The owner is super knowledgeable and was able to answer questions about how holograms work and the machines. I ended up spending a bit under an hour there. . It was...

My wife and I are from out of town and were in the area killing time and found this place on GMaps.

It was a really cool experience! Bob is knowledgeable and engaging. He spent an hour taking us around, showing off his collection, and answering our questions. Super nice guy! The collection is organized and well maintained.

I would guess this place has special significance if you work with lasers or holograms, but it was definitely still interesting to us. Explanations were technical but not over our heads.

It’s located in an office park, and probably not an all day activity (unless you are in the industry), but it was exactly the kind of thing we were looking for and we cannot stop talking...

Went in and met Bob Hess the owner of the museum. Had such a great time exploring his collection and learning about this incredible visual medium and various applications. I expressed interest in doing a workshop and we made a hologram of a keychain from Hawaii that I’ve owned for over 20yrs. I’ve showed it to many friends and they’re all impressed by the depth and curious about how it works. The museum is very well organized and would be an awesome experience for any parent who wants to get their children interested in STEM disciplines. This place that Bob Hess has meticulously put together is a Diamond...

The best museum I have visited in a while, running by very enthusiastic passionate inspiring knowledgeable person. The museum itself is tiny but packed with knowledge and history about laser and holographic technology from early 20th century. On top of that, the person, running this museum, is very knowledgeable and informative about all pieces he collected, and in the back he has his own lab working on the laser/holographic stuff. It is a hidden gem in the town! Highly recommend to visit!

This place is an incredible experience. It’s a mix between a museum and a working lab. I learned so much more about the history and operation of holograms and lasers than I expected. The owner is super outgoing and clearly very passionate about what he does. If you come here with your own enthusiasm, he will return it right back to you. It's truly a gem in Phoenix and an incredible collection of functional holograms
