I’ve come here a few times and enjoyed this amazing and sprawling park immensely. Once I took a walk around just a small portion of the lake and the various architectural choices kept the walk interesting with points under a bridge, you can go out on the dock or watch the kids play in the park. Wasn’t shaded on most of it, but there were some nice stretches in the shade. Have also come with kid and she loved this splash pad and boy did I too! It was in the shade, all of the splash pad and 95% of the playground. My only gripe is there there’s no shades spots that don’t constantly or sporadically get misted ☹️ as well as the tables are only in the shade for very short hours in the beginning and end of day. The rest of the “seating” is on the little wall surrounding the pad which is also mostly unshaded, depending on time of day. The playground, however, has perfect benches right under the canopy!

Very large shaded splash pad, with sun-exposed concrete seating around the perimeter (except where shade is created by The Cloud). A Ramada nearby, w/ some trees w/ shade nearby too, and a shaded playground. Connected to one of the large ponds & the looping track for walking/running, plus a bike path just to the West. Most of the time, it's a safe place; however, on a Saturday late morning, we were attacked? pranked? by three pre-teens throwing large stones down on us from the bathroom roof (daughter had to pee!). I was hit, but my daughter was not. Tempe Park Ranger "Sage?" and an officer responded quickly enough as I followed the kids around the park, but the officer & ranger didn't take it seriously and lost sight of the three kids as they chatted with me. Guess it will happen again, possible w/ worse outcome.

I recommend ⭐️ bringing sand toys too since they also have a small sand area here. I also think the play area is focused around ages 4 and lower. Pros- covered splash pad, small playground, 1 covered sitting area, sand pit, small slide, swings, larger grassy area, and bathrooms super close! I like this splash pad bc it’s not too big and allows the kids to do more than just be in the water. Cons- not the cleanest especially the small playground area. The playground is def not my favorite in the valley for my boys to play at and it’s centered around younger ages BUT it’s still something for them to do if they don’t feel like being in the water.
