I needed to purchase a suit for my son's homecoming dance. Upon arrival I started walking the aisles looking for the appropriate suit. I realized quickly I will need some help, but only noticed a few people working in the womens department so I stood in line to get help. As I was in line I noticed the lady at the cash register didn't even acknowledge me until she was done putting some papers away. I thought at that point I can tell customer service is not a strong point here. Long story short after being there over an hour and a half I came back to pick up my $168.00 purchase and the tailor said take it to the front and get a bag not go up front and purchase a bag. So I went to the front waited in line for a little bit and then decided to just ask for the bag.The manager (I found out later he was the manager) said Ok reluctantly and said I have other customers. So I proceeded to leave and he says its not free you have to get in line and pay for the bag. I Then looked at it at noticed the 5.99 price tag. I said the tailor told me just to go get a bag. The manager stated I can get you a plastic bag, but you have to wait in line. He was so rude, Better yet why didn't the tailor cover the suit?, Anyway, I said no thank you, put it back on the counter and left. As a customer I feel If I am spending money in your store and have been waiting a long time why should I stand in line again for a bag to cover the suit I already purchased. Why aren't any of the employees greeting me with a smile? Everyone acts like they are miserable and even the manager acted as if it was the last place he wanted to be. Upon arrival, I was fortunate to be greeted by a young man named Darun (apologies if my spelling is incorrect). Darun was impressively knowledgeable when it came to assisting customers with selecting outfits suitable for various occasions. More importantly, he demonstrated remarkable patience as I was initially unsure how to proceed after my original idea fell through due to unavailability of my size.
Darun walked me through the entire store, helping me find the perfect ensemble for the wedding. I must say I am thoroughly pleased with the outfit he helped me put together. Throughout the process, I also noticed another customer who appeared to be receiving his assistance, and the customer could not stop thanking Darun for his help.
Having shopped at K&G frequently, I can honestly say I have never received this level of customer service before. For some reason got very offended because of that and raised his voice saying that's all the colors they had that if they didn't have out there that they didn't have it all and rambled about why was I looking for a suit in the first place if I wasn't going to buy them. Anyways I went ahead and kept buying some dresses with my girlfriend (same age, teen looking like me, 20). He then proceeded to ask me if that was my mom? Very offended by that, but I'm a chill guy let it slip just told him it was my girlfriend. She then wanted to try a couple dresses that we had picked out. She always carries a very small backpack with all her cards, cash ID and everything, just like a purse. He then proceeded to abruptly interrupt our conversation and told us that she had to bring her small backpack to the front.
