I regret to inform you that my recent dining experience at Taj Indian Cuisine was utterly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, it seemed as though mediocrity was the theme of the evening.
To start, the tandoori chicken, which is typically a highlight of any Indian restaurant, was abysmal. It lacked flavor, tenderness, and was disappointingly dry. It seemed as though it had been cooked ages ago and reheated multiple times, resulting in a tough and unappetizing texture.
Moving on to the mixed platter, it was served to me in a state that can only be described as frigid. The assortment of supposed delicacies was anything but enticing when served at a temperature more suited for an arctic expedition. It's evident that proper attention to food temperature was not a priority in the kitchen.
Furthermore, the biggest letdown of the evening was the taste—or rather, the lack thereof. None of the dishes I sampled possessed even a hint of the vibrant flavors one expects from Indian cuisine. It was as though the spices had gone on an unannounced vacation, leaving behind a bland and uninspired array of dishes.
In summary, my experience at Taj Indian Cuisine was one of profound disappointment. From the dismal tandoori chicken to the ice-cold mixed platter and the overall lackluster flavors, there was nothing about this dining experience that I could commend. It pains me to say that I will not be returning, nor can I in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an authentic and enjoyable Indian...
Read moreI visited this place on a Saturday night. I would love to start off by saying how phenomenal the decoration is here. It is so elegant. I was seated immediately. The restaurant was not overcrowded however it did seem rather busy because the two employees that I got to see seemed to be the only ones waiting tables and assisting with pick up orders. I ordered the Taj Special Appetizer. It included, Samosa, pakora, chicken tikka, and seekh kabab. I was expecting something that had more of a kabob style for the chicken but I was presented with rather large pieces of unflavored meat—it tasted okay with the green chutney. I love lamb but the seekh kabab disappointed as well. The only two things I really enjoyed were the samosa and the pakora. For my main entree, I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan which did not disappoint at all. I literally wanted to bury my face in the naan and it tasted even better the next day. I also tried the mango lassi which was not too thick but I would have liked it with a little more ice. The process to check out seemed rather tedious but I’m sure it was because they were busy. Although my experience was a little over average, I’d like to give them another try as they had other items on their menu that I enjoy...
Read moreThe food was good and the restaurant is beautiful, however that's where the positives end. My sister and I came in an hour before closing and were told to "hurry up and order because the kitchen is closing" before we even sat down. So we were ready to order and waiting for the waiter when he finally came around and took our order he was no more pleasant than he had been when seating us. Half way through our meal another family came in, an Indian family, and they were not rushed or treated rudely. The waiter was prompt and cordial with the other family. When he slapped our receipt on the table everything we had ordered was two dollars more than the menu price. We paid and boxed up our food. When the waiter returned with our change HE KICKED US OUT AT EXACTLY 10 when the other family was just getting their food. And when I say kicked us out, I mean our ride was not there we had just gotten our money back, and told very rudely that "we are closed you need to leave" while the other family enjoyed their meal. I was embarrassed and upset especially that we were the only patrons made to wait outside on the curb in the cold. I will never be coming back and will be going to Tamarind...
