Let me start by saying that the housekeepers and other staff except for a couple of managers or bar none. However the rooms leave a lot to desire. I checked in around 5:00 p.m.and was not happy with the man who checked me in he was very condescending and he spoke to me like I was an idiot. I was sent to room number 121 which is a deluxe king suite and was told that the room was only big enough for two people. I chose this suite because of the living room and pull out sofa the room is around 425 square feet. I booked this room through bookit.com and was led to believe that the room would be okay for four people, but when I got here I was told only two people per room. Okay so I started out in room 121 and the water was leaking in the bathtub, the TV in the living room did not work, there was only one remote for both TVs and there was only two standard pillows on the king size bed and no pillows for the fold out bed.I go to the front office and speak to the gentleman that checked me in and explained the problem I had with the room, he told me that he would take care of everything and by the way that there was only one remote for a room for two TVs. Have you ever heard of such? So I got in my vehicle and left for a while because I needed to pick up some things for the next three days of my stay with them, because my house is being tinted and I didn't have everything I needed. I get back 2 hours later and go to the room open the door and it's flooded, the TV still doesn't work and I still only had two pillows 🤣. I called the front office and explained what was going on they sent someone to take care of the problem, which they couldn't do so they proceeded to move me into a new room which would be 128. The lady that moved me to the new room was awesome, she made sure that we had pillows and blankets for the pull out sofa and that we had enough towels. Okay I unpack my overnight bags and put it neatly away in the drawers that were provided for my use. I put away my groceries in the fridge and cabinets that were provided for my use. I go to take a shower and I am scalded by hot water on my chest before I could get out of the shower because there is no cold water at all in the faucet of the shower 🚿. I immediately called the front desk and was told that I should turn the knob in the opposite direction to get cold water like I am an absolute idiot. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper and of course they send someone to check the water. She also was scalded by the hot water and was unable to get any cold water. So now I'm told that I would have to wait until the next day to get someone in there to fix the hot water problem. so now I am unable to take a shower after working all day.(Really not a happy person at this point) At 9:00 a.m. the next morning, maintenance came to the room to fix the hot water problem and he also was scalded by the hot water, the maintenance guy didn't speak english but was able to communicate that he would be back. when no one returned by 11 a.m. I headed towards the office and was intercepted by a manager that told me she was moving me to a new room. I proceeded to repack my things, including a few frozen dinners and other odds and ends from the refrigerator and cabinets. After 2hrs I went to the office to find out what was going on and was told that she was waiting for the new room to be cleaned, now mind you I still haven't had a shower and I'm on room number 3. I'm trying very hard to be a good sport about everything,so I asked her about being compensated for my inconvenience and she told me I had to speak to the manager that checked me in. Well to make a long story short, I would not recommend this...
Read moreStayed at this hotel for with my disabled mother and dog for hurricane Milton. I am a nurse working nightshift so I had to stay close to the hospital for work and avoid flooding delays as much as I could. If I could give this place 1/2 a star I would.
The place looks run down and the rooms were dirty. We checked in and there was an orange peels behind the door, the sheets had stains and the pillows has black dots on them. The shower was stained and multiple pieces of the shower walls were cracked. The front door to the room had a gap underneath which allowed rain water from the hurricane to begin flooding the room. If it weren't for us bringing dog pee pads to absorb the water and using the TWO towels, and comforter provided by the hotel with we would have had flooding inside the room.
After the hurricane passed we lost power, which I was not surprised by. We tried to ask staff the following morning for towels which they refused. They said they didn't have any more because there was no power. Most hotels give each room 4 towels. Not this place you get 2 towels and that is it. My mother is disabled and the elevator had no power. We were on the 3rd floor and could not get her down. When I made the reservation via Triple AAA if wrote in the comment box for accommodations that my mother was disabled and I had a pet. We asked staff if there was a generator to power the elevator for customers who are disabled to check out or evacuate and they said no. We asked them what would happen if there was an emergency and they stated to call 911. We then asked what if the emergency happened on the 2nd or 3rd floors and they stated that is EMS's problem.
On check out day we asked multiple hotel employees for help with transferring our items downstairs so I could load them in the car myself. They refused. We asked multiple hotel staff for help with bringing my mother downstairs. They refused. I even went to the front desk to ask for help with getting my mother down 32 steps and multiple landings. They just looked at me and didn't even get up to see how they could help us. There was no following up as I told them the room number and that I needed to check out soon. I was not asking them to carry my mother downstairs or anything, I was asking them to be on standby just in case she were to loose balance or almost fall. It was just her and I with our dog. It is a shame that we ended up getting help from people who were staying at the hotel, who were also checking out at the time. The staff here are rude, unfriendly, and not helpful. If it were under any other circumstances I would have never checked in and gone to another hotel. I also noticed they price gouged as I was charged well over $100 per night to stay here where as now prices are about $65 a night. It is a shame they took advantage of people during the storm. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and tell others NOT TO STAY THERE. This is the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel in my life. The only reason I would give it 1/2 star is for being pet friendly and because it stood up to hurricane winds...
Read moreUpon arrival everything was fine. We got to our room and the AC unit was practically falling off the wall and making an obnoxious grinding/whining sound. We contacted the front desk and were told to turn it down or off and that all the AC units made that sound. We asked to move rooms. Upon entering the 2nd room the AC was normal however the smell of weed was so bad and the condition of the room looked as though someone had just left, we couldn't stay. We stated our displeasure and told management we wanted to leave immediately and receive a refund due to the poor accommodations. We were told we would receive an email containing the cancellation of the reservation and the confirmation of payment back onto our payment source. After 5 hours, still no email, so we called the main member help line for Red Roof Inn.... No help there as they stated it was the hotel location we needed to talk to, even though the reservation was made via the main site. Unfortunately the outsourced call center has a language barrier, and wouldn't offer any assistance because they couldn't understand. Called the location and were told the complete opposite of what we were told by the original member. We were told that no refund would be made, unless we wait to talk to a manager because we cancelled the reservation, however it was cancelled by the team member on duty at our request because of the condition of multiple rooms. Additionally the staff member that took our call had no idea of the situation, and stated they didn't get there until 4PM so whatever happened before that isn't their problem. Upon asking how long the email should take, we were told shortly, and it would contain everything we need, and have a good day. Depending on how the conversation with a manager goes, we will update accordingly. At this point, we DO NOT recommend staying here. *Update - we have called the hotel multiple times after being told 3 different times when the manager would be in to speak with. Each time whoever answers the phone says they don't know where the manager is and that they will call back. It has now been 5 hours and we have not received any call back. They do not even try to help. *Update - After not receive a call back we finally called one more time. This staff member knew of the issue. When we asked for the email it was promptly sent, however it contained our check-in time the day prior which was accurate, yet the check-out time was the next day at the time I was speaking with them. Based on this they proceeded to charge us for 1-night, as they never actually did cancel the reservation. We were told based on the circumstance, we would only be entitled to a single day refund plus security deposit. After reviewing updated billing, this was also false information. We were fortunately able to find another hotel near by, with FAR BETTER accommodations, and a much friendlier staff for the duration...
