Went with a family member to help them return an item, which was within the 14 day return period. The older lady there, without offering their original payment, which was in cash, immediately tried to put the return money back on a Staples card. A younger girl there comes over and has to verify the return with her manager tries to back the older lady about the staples card but then gets corrected over her head set by her manager, then got stressed because there wasn’t enough money in the drawer, so we had to wait for more cash. We had no problem waiting. I work in management so I understand that front end workers may have to wait for management because of their limited functions at the registers. Especially with return transactions. I deal with plenty of returns every day where my front end people require management approval. There was zero issue with us having to wait, until the older lady made a snarky remark saying “this is why we try to push the staples card,” after some moments of silence. No you try to push it to make it more convenient for you. Anytime we do a return where I work we always offer original payment first if it’s allowed because we don’t know what people need their money for. Maybe they DONT want to re-use their money here, and that should be perfectly okay. Customers shouldn’t have to ask for their cash payments back because the workers there just want to do whatever’s quickest and easiest for themselves. Because that’s exactly the energy this experience was giving. It should be common sense to ask if customers want their original payments back, and THEN offer store credit if it’s absolutely necessary. The staff there need to be more knowledgeable on how to do returns and maybe not make snarky remarks because they feel stressed or inconvenienced. WE felt inconvenienced as customers because it was clear the staff did NOT care about providing good customer service. They were just worried about getting us in and out and felt it was necessary to make a sarcastic remark to let her...
Read moreThis is now the only office products "big box" store in town. And one of the only places that offer public FAX service. I had to fax a document to a government agency (the only way you can submit the form - why?) And I had a hard time finding a place to do it. Full service print and copy shop.
But anyway, they have a great selection of office supplies, a good amount of furniture. Furnature is not very nice anymore. It's all build it yourself. They also have a mediocre computer section. School supplies in season.
One thing is clear, they wouldn't make it selling just paper and pens. They have added a couple of isles of what I'll call grocery items (paper towels, pledge, coffee etc) but it is all kind of high priced. They also have...
Read moreI needed to get 4 pages printed off in color for a business meeting. I sent them the files and an email over 24 hours in advance. I even called them to confirm when I would be there to pick them up. When I arrived the next day they did not even have the files downloaded from their email...let alone printed.
This wasn't some huge order, and it literally takes 5 seconds to do.
This also isn't the first time they have let me down. Their copy/print center is absolutely horrible and the people working there don't know the first thing about customer service...or how to use the advanced features on their machines.
I really wish we had more options around here for...
