This was my second time visiting Sushi Nami in Texarkana, and unfortunately this visit was very disappointing from start to finish.
When I sat down, my server seemed unsure of the menu and wasn’t able to answer even basic questions on her own. She had to repeatedly check with another staff member, who acted visibly bothered by the interruptions. Eventually, with their help, I placed my order.
When my food arrived, I started eating but quickly noticed something was missing from my entrée. I flagged the server and explained my concern. She went to check and came back to admit that she had entered the wrong item when placing my order. She didn’t offer any solution herself, she just said someone else would fix it.
A different waitress (the same one who had been bothered earlier) came over to the table, but instead of handling it politely, she was rude and dismissive. She told me, “Well, you already started eating on it, so we’re not giving you the other entrée. You can order something else.” I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to correct their mistake.
To make matters worse, the original waitress didn’t return to check on me until after I had finished eating. At that point, she simply asked if I wanted more water and which dessert flavor I wanted, as if nothing had happened. I had actually pre-ordered dessert, but by then, I’d decided to cancel it entirely because the experience had soured my appetite and mood.
Overall, the service was careless, and the way the mistake was handled was unacceptable. I wasn’t offered a proper apology, no replacement entrée, and no compensation for the error, just told I could pay for the item I had originally wanted.
I had looked forward to this meal based on my first visit, but this experience left a bad impression. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and re-trains staff on basic service, accountability, and respectful communication with customers. A simple, sincere effort to make things right would have...
Read moreWe will start by saying, it is a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. Well decorated and inviting. Well lit with spacious seating . As for the ayce menu, it has appetizers, soups, salad and hibachi, along with tempura. Flip it over to reveal the abundance of sushi and sashimi from tuna to squid, eel to salmon caviar. From there the menu moves to hand rolls and a multitude of delicious fresh rolls. All of which Are made to order. The sashimi was of large pieces ,delectable and fatty . Extremely fresh and of good quality.( Not the cheap stuff a lot of places try to pass off). The miso dumpling soup was a perfect combination of unami and miso flavor ( easily the best in this area). The ginger dressing on the house salad was truly a delight. If this is not enough, the all you can eat comes with a buffet of fresh fairs which included a multitude of Chinese foods and even had a Cajun boil of shrimp, crawfish, mussels and corn in a delicious garlic and Cajun butter. Yummy. If you are looking for fresh food , well prepared with a great atmosphere and friendly service, this is a welcome addition to the...
Read moreThis is the best sushi restaurant in Texarkana! My wife and I came here for a pre-Christmas date and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, atmosphere, and staff.
I will start off by saying that we ordered off the menu and did not purchase the All You Can Eat package.
Left to right: Yellowtail Sashimi, Nami Roll, Volcano Roll, Phoenix Roll.
Not shown: 2x Miso Soup, Takoyaki
The miso soups were very flavorful and the takoyaki were the perfect appetizer to start the evening.
The Yellowtail was extremely smooth and delicious. Nami Roll was our fan favorite, absolutely amazing! Volcano Roll was amazing, especially if you love shrimp tempura and spicy salmon. The roe was very plump and juicy. Phoenix Roll also delicious, but had some small bones in it. No complaints since its fairly difficult to debone an eel completely!
Overall, my wife and I rate the experience 10/10 and will absolutely come by again!
We think we may try out the AYCE next time 😄
Edit: We came back the next day for the AYCE Buffet option.
I will let the pictures speak for...
