I had Oakleigh and she was FANTASTIC. Actually, fantastic is an understatement. I got my hair cut by her, nothing too special but it turned out better than I've ever dreamed of. Before going in I had thick, wavy hair that was cut into a really outgrown wolfcut. I've always dreamed of a mullet but a feminine and grown out one. As soon as I told Oakleigh about this she gave me her input and we talked about ways we can make this dream come true. When she cut my hair she layered and cut my hair perfectly. She cuts hair amazingly and is SO SO kind. She makes sure to make small talk and she asks questions about your life while respecting boundaries. I got my hair cut by her 6 months prior to my appointment and she still remembered me and things i told her about before! Other places never talk to me and its just akward and strange whenever i get my hair cut and it really builds a connection and a relationship of trust when stylists talk and actually show an interest in you. I have been done wrong before by Great Clips and other large companies and when I get home from these places I shed genuine tears of sadness because of what was done to me. This time was different. When I got home I cried just like every other time, but this time it was out of pure joy. I finally received the haircut of my dreams and I look SO good with it. I've only had it for a few days and I've had dozens of people complement it! Her rates for a haircut is 30 dollars for a womens cut. Which is double Great Clips but if you factor in the genuine quality and work put into the haircut it really isnt expensive at all. Also, who doesnt like supporting small businesses over large cooperation chains? The stylist was very friendly, but I did not get the hair cut I expected. I asked for a trim with minimal hair cut off the ends, face framing, thinning, and layers. My hair cut was uneven and blunt. I think the shears were not sharp. She cut off more than anticipated and did not show me amount cut or ask if it was okay before cutting. At end of services, she stated it was $60, although when online I booked for $30.00. She stated it cost more because of shampoo/condition and "doing other things". I did have my hair shampoo/conditioned, thinned and blow dry. No styling. I have never had a haircut over $50 without a style included. She said she could do $45 instead because she did not let me know that the price would be more when doing the other things. Due to service not meeting quality expected by taking more off the ends than necessary, being blunt cut, and uneven, I would not go back or go back to salon or stylist. It was honestly emotional for me to have the amount cut off without asking after just having a baby and adjusting to my appearance afterward. I should have let her know my cut wasn't satisfying, but I didn't want anymore to be taken off by expressing...

I have been going to Ashley for years. Her new salon is beautifully decorated and she is as down to earth as you can get. She is extremely talented and I see her for color/highlight and cuts. She will work with you especially if you come with ideas (I usually do) and make it look better than you expect. My hair is somehow surprisingly soft after getting it done and doesn't smell like horrific chemicals as she uses high quality products. I feel her prices are consistent with other salons and the quality of her services in my opinion are worth what you pay.
