Dollar General — Local services in Thornapple Township

UPDATED 7/2022: Used to frequent often. NOW... Worst Dollar General I've EVER been to. Trip hazards everywhere. Employees are rude. After showing up countless times to find them closed- and I have not always been the only one in the parking lot disappointed to find them closed (also, Google continues to state they are open late). A sign finally posted their new hours of 8am-5pm. I left work early one day to stop there on my way home because I needed an essential item, and I have limited time to go the store. I got there at 4:45pm, and the employee was bringing in the items from outside. I planned to grab my one item and be on my way. Before I was ten steps from my car, she shouted to me that they were closed because of a delivery. I asked if I could just get my one item since their sign states they are open until 5pm, but she said the registers were already down and again, they were closed. This used to be my go-to convenience store when I needed something, but now I won't ever bother trying to go back because you won't know if they will be open, have anything stocked, how long you'll be waiting in line to checkout, if you'll stumble over all the boxes in the aisles and be forced to argue your way out of paying for an item that broke, or anything else of the matter. This place needs to get it's $h*t together or just close their doors. You're more of an inconvenience to Middleville than anything... and I actually think my review is much nicer than it should be. I'm hoping it will be a motivator and not come across as a pure insult. But something...

I really like this store, it is neat, clean, the shelves are always stocked ( no boxes in the aisleways like some of the other locations. My only qualm is that their bread is stored at the bottom of the shelf. I found a bag with what appeared to be nice nibbles on it. I store my bread on an upper shelf as to not attract mice. I brought it to the supervisors attention and she immediately shut down the idea of it possibly happening at her store. She did tell me I could bring the bag back in for reimbursement which I was happy about but I didn't like that she completely shut down the idea, also, the bread is still at the...

Very good selection but the female workers tonight were very rude they were talking about someone saying if there kid did that in the store she would knock them out. Then when a young lady tried to enter at 9pm on the dot the worker said were closed people don’t understand if the door is locked we are closed. I just feel like people who work here need to understand manners and respect! Just because makes you covid makes you close early you don’t have...
