Town & Country Restaurant Diner — Restaurant in Toms River

We have been to this dinner many times and the food is good! Have had some issues with our order in the past while eating in but usually it is the waitress that made the mistakes in taking the order! However, last week I called in a take-out order. I repeated the order 3 times to the waitress on the phone to make sure she got it right and when I arrived home with the order, the order was wrong. Usually if it is something little, you don't mind and just enjoy what you get. However, there were a few things wrong with both dinners. When calling the diner to let them know, I spoke to a gentleman. He said he would check into it and I hung up the phone. The gentleman called back shortly thereafter. I missed his call and called back. I called back and spoke to a waitress and I told her that I received a call back. She asked me to hold on and I could hear her speaking to the gentleman I originally spoke to and she got back on the phone and, he said, come in and we will give you the burgers again. Well, my wife and I went into the diner tonight for the same order and was told we could only have one of the dinners not both even though they messed up both on the take home order! Didn't matter that they messed up both dinners and some of it had to be thrown away because it was under cooked as well!!! Therefore, we decided to leave because they didn't honor their word! I also, let all my facebook friends know not to venture into this establishment anymore! They messed up...i believe it to be a combination of both the waitress who took our order and the cook who messed our original order up!!!! You would think that, if the waitress took the order down right, she would have reviewed when packaging it! That is why I believe both were responsible for messing...

The food here is great, and it's cheap too. The service really leaves a lot to be desired, though. Two out of the last three times I've been in, my order has been wrong, and there has been reluctance on the part of either the server, the cook, or the manager, perhaps all three - to have them made correctly. In the most recent instance, the server put the plate in front of me, basically said, 'he made it exactly how you asked him not too', and tried to walk away. On telling her that really wasn't acceptable, she said, "I get it. You want what you want." I couldn't resist telling her that, "No, I want what I ordered."

That's simply absurd. It's terrible customer service, and when she returned - order wrong again, short one egg - she insisted on further rationalizing, feeling the need to tell me that "they" made her do it, and wouldn't refire it until she tried to sell it. Whatever the reason, there is no good one for knowingly giving someone the wrong thing. Especially twice.

And, not that I was looking for anything but my food, they didn't even comp my cup of coffee. I'd say that would have been the least they could have done, except they found a way to do less, which was nothing.

I'll go back because I like the food enough to punish myself for it, but I'm not sure how much more incompetence and disregard I can take. I'm on a pretty flimsy branch with...

I went there for breakfast, ordered simply two eggs over medium bacon from the waitress. When it came out, the eggs were not over medium more like over a light very runny bacon was deep-fried, which is disgusting could not eat the breakfast. I would recommend the place if they can’t make an egg over medium I’d have to go behind the counter and show the cook. Waitress only came over to ask if we want more coffee and do not ask how the breakfast was came over twice asked again do you want more coffee and at this time my breakfast was sitting there never asked. So when we were checking out, my husband and I, the cashier asked how everything was and I told him it was gross and the bacon was deep-fried. He just looked and said I’m sorry and still charged for the breakfast that I never ate so word to the wise if you go don’t order eggs over medium or over easy they don’t know how to make them and please don’t order the bacon if you want deep fried bacon, which is disgusting bacon and itself is bad but deep frying it is worse.
