If Engroff has a policy, then they need to explain their policy details to ALL of their customers. Both Emily and Rosie did an awful job and I dislike how they do buisness. They say that they dont have a contract, that's fine. You throw the term "policy " at me when I call to get $200 deposite refunded....when you both never mentioned a single detail about a " policy" 1 we only discussed a date time for taste testing over the phone- Rosie did not say anything about $200 deposited but the trainer Emily lies and says that she was present when Rosie was on the phone with me when we scheduled the taste testing date and that she mentioned it then. That's a lie. 2 I arrive to taste testingasscheduled and was rushed through my tasting the food then paid them people $200 deposit just to hold my reception date.....because thats what Rosie said thats what the $200 was for- not once did she mention it being nonfundable. Hell, the food we tested didn't even about to $200. 3 I call Engroff back to get refund simply because I got a much better deal with another company and both Emily and Rosie tell me no and start talking about some policy that they got. I say all that to say to other folks that are trying to plan an event with Engroff in mind think twice. They are wishy-washy and are messy when it comes to handling buisness. I've had mixed reviews, some say Engroff is ok and others say no- engroff is not/the service they had with them was bad. I decided to give engroff a chance but changed my mind simply because I got a better deal with a different catering service which I was good- they were $1000 cheaper then Engroff. I felt that when I called about getting my deposite refunded, they got mad because they weren't getting over $4500.00 out of me when the month of October rolls around. I dont wish any negative to Engroff yall been around for awhile now but the ladies both Rosie and Emily are not representing right. And Rosie if you are training Emily to do what you do, then train her to do ALL of the customers right and dont bypass on explaining that so called "policy" that you both all of a sudden wanted to bring up.🙄 yall both got your hands out for money and dont be explaining nothing to the customers.....that dont look good and...
Read moreWe hired Abouds to cater our wedding and wouldn’t have had it any other way. They were so helpful in every aspect. I’ll note a couple of examples. When we first went to pick out our meal and have our tasting I (being the bridezilla I was) wanted Macaroni & Cheese as a side dish. It wasn’t on their original menu but when I brought it up to Amanda she said they could put something together for us and they did. It was wonderful! I wanted that little something different for the wedding and Abouds pulled through. Also, about 1 month before the wedding we had let go the original lady that was going to do our bartending and linens. I contacted Abouds and they told us they could do both for us. We provided our own alcohol but Abouds set everything up for us and went and picked up the kegs and brought them back to the liquor store. The bartender was great, courteous and very professional. We were also able to get into the venue the day before to set up so Abouds came and set up the linens and as much of the catering equipment they could to make the wedding day go as smooth as possible. Also, we had one hiccup in the wedding and forgot to get soda, so when it came cocktail hour there wasn’t any soda for people to drink, just alcohol and mixers. Abouds went and got a bunch of soda for the wedding for us at the last minute which was SO helpful in a time of need! Also, we had just over 30 tables and the Abouds staff helped tear down some of our centerpieces after the wedding which we were so grateful for, it really helped facilitate a quick tear down. All in all hiring Abouds was one of the best decisions we made when we planned our wedding. Amanda Morrow the sales manager was so easy to work with and wanted the best for us. She was fantastic and helped out so much. My husband’s family has hired Abouds for 4 weddings now (including mine) and each time it has been such a great experience. Read moreEngroff agreed to donate food for our charity fundraising event for victims of stalking. After a month of the free advertising they received from us, they waited until 4 days before the event to back out because they did not feel the $420 we raised was good enough to waste their time.
We are a nonprofit and the food donated would be a write-off for them regardless of how much money we raised. There was never an agreement dependent upon us raising a certain amount of money. Our ticket prices were never discussed with them when they agreed to the donation.
However, they saw on Facebook that we had posted tickets for a price of $65 originally, but then lowered the prices in hopes of selling more tickets. Their reason for cancelling the donation was because they felt we wouldn't be getting enough money in donations, and would only agree to keep their end of the deal if we could sell all tickets at the original $65 price.
We ended up having to cancel the event after we had just sold out of tickets 4 days before the event. We now will have to give back all the money that was raised for these poor victims, and then some. Not to mention the losses we will now incur.
