I went through drive thru and got 1 ice cream item that was being advertised on their screen. I paid, received napkins and my water and was told they were getting my ice cream. Almost 20 minutes later (with not 1 person on front of me at any time), I received the ice cream without an apology or statement of how long I waited whatsoever. I accepted the ice cream and napkins (I had to request). As the employee went to close the window I said I felt it was extremely poor customer service to say absolutely nothing as I waited that long, especially not saying a word once I gave her my opinion in a respectable manner... or even when she was giving me the items (informing her I shouldn't have had to wait that long for 1 item). She simply looked at me and went to close the window without saying a word, so I drove off.
I've never felt like anyone cared that little about customer service/ satisfaction as I did then. She couldn't said something... anything, or at least acted like she enjoyed her job. Behind the window she was laughing with others, she couldn't put more attention to the customer instead of standing around waiting without saying anything.
Much needed training!!
Then, the item I received tasted like pepper, so couldn't be eaten, but I wasn't about to return for the poor customer service after driving home. If s sonics going to advertise a new product, they should be overly prepared to serve it. Very disappointed and feel training is partial issue, and quality of employees being hired is another as I had another incident somewhat recently that was friendly, but no knowledge, intelligence, and frankly the kid didn't make sense. (I got charged for something I didn't order, wanted a credit, and he just said keep the item, but left me hanging without any other communication other than not understanding I wanted a credit). Then I had to wait for an assistant manager, who talked trash on the manager openly then asked for the product back after being told keep it (which wasn't a problem).
Sounds to me like they need to clean house...idk, but think I'll take a break, especially from the 21st and Wanamaker Sonic. This hadn't been my...
Read moreThis is a busy Sonic due to it's prime location. The only reason I am giving it 1 star and taking the time to leave a review/novel is because of the horrendous service that continues to get worse with time. It is a nightmare trying to get in and out of this Sonic, and if you are lucky enough to get a stall, you pull in only to see it doesn't work. The wait time for 2 drinks during Happy Hour is approximately 9 minutes. Today I was out running errands, and against my better judgement stopped here to grab a couple drinks, soft pretzel with cheese, and mozzarella sticks with ranch. 17 minutes later, we had our drinks, pretzel with no cheese, and missing the ranch. Pushed red button to let the employees inside know we were missing these items, and was told they were out of cheese, but brought out the ranch. I gave the pretzel without cheese back and requested a refund of my $1.99 plus tax. The carhop was rude and snatched the bag from my hand. When she finally came back with my refund, she thought it would be cute to "forget" the tax, as well as give me back $1.99 in change. Do yourself a favor and skip the poor service and food, long wait times, and lack of competent management...
Read more1 star experience at this Sonic today. My daughter and I ordered 6 bucks worth of food - an Oreo master shake and a couple queso wraps. When the car hop brought the food out, it looked and smelled delicious! The cheesecake shake was well presented with a cherry on top and those delectable graham cracker crumbles! My mouth began to water with anticipation as I handed the bag over to my daughter and could smell the queso wraps. HOWEVER, when I gave the car hop my card to pay (since the payment screen never loaded on the kiosk), she said "Oh, I'm sorry, our card system is down, they didn't tell you that when you ordered? We're only taking cash." I looked through my wallet, praying to see some cash I knew wasn't there. "No.. they didn't tell me that when I ordered", I say. "I don't have any cash...". To which she replies, "Oh.. sorry about that.. I guess I'll take those back then." My daughter and I sit there in disbelief as I slowly hand her our food back and she walks away. We had to settle for some overpriced garbage from McDonald's. Normally, I'm a Sonic fan, but not today. You did us dirty,...
