I saw someone else write a comment about how Jessica and Lee speak terribly about their customers in Spanish.. I can attest to this personally.
I am the last person to get onto Google and write a negative review. But as I sit here literally researching new nail salons to go to, I decided to see what other people had to say..
Pretty recently I realized that Lee was my favorite nail tech to sit with because of the designs she can do. 3 weeks ago (the last time I'll be going) I showed her a picture of what I wanted - 3 nails on each hand had designs while 2 nails were solid colors. The solid colors didn't mesh well with the designs (and weren't the color I asked for, but I trusted her creatively so kept my mouth shut until I saw the final product and disliked it.) I then asked her if we could change the solid colored nails. That's when she first started talking under her breath. Jessica and another nail tech were then speaking across the room to each other about me before they circled around Lee's station.
Little do they know.. I understand Spanish. I sat there the ENTIRE time just to see what they'd say. It was so difficult to (physically [never in my life]) bite my tongue as 3 different staff members actively spoke about me in FRONT of my face for (no exaggeration) 10 minutes straight. Lee went on and on about how I love wasting their time, she's never taking me again and encouraged them to do the same, etc.
When Jessica and the other nail tech walked into the back, I said to Lee "lo siento" ("I'm sorry" in Spanish) - inferring I knew absolutely everything they just said. I then explained that I wasn't trying to waste her time, I apologized, and I made a point to comment on everything they spoke about in front of me. I said "yeah, I speak Spanish. Sorry I waited to tell you I disliked it. Don't worry - I'll compensate you for the wasted time. And if you guys don't want to take me anymore, that's fine."
She was shook :)
Oh, and I still tipped over 30% (kinda regret it now.)
Anyways - yeah definitely unprofessional behavior and honestly just rude as h*ll. If you want to talk about your customers, do it behind their back at least? Not sure.
Thanks for coming to...
Read moreAfter several disappointing visits to Jersey Nails & Spa in recent months, I feel compelled to share my experience. The atmosphere from the moment you enter is far from welcoming, primarily due to the behavior of the owner, Sonia. She often appears distracted and seldom acknowledges customers as they arrive.
Her attitude is particularly troubling—rude and dismissive when providing service, telling you how to sit and where to look/ not to look. Any questions or suggestions are met with visible irritation. Additionally, I overheard her making derogatory comments about customers in Vietnamese, apparently assuming no one understood. Such behavior is both unprofessional and unacceptable.
Sonia is frequently distracted, often interrupting nail services to tend to other tasks like answering calls, checking her calendar, or attending to other customers.
Moreover, the quality of her work has declined significantly. My nails were uneven and poorly painted, far from the relaxing experience I had hoped for. Instead, I felt both disappointed and undervalued.
Additionally, she fails to properly sanitize her tools. On one occasion, she even used the tool she was working with on my nails to trim her own cuticle right in front of me. Gross.
I will not be returning to this salon and cannot recommend it to anyone seeking quality service and a respectful atmosphere. I'll be taking my...
Read moreIf you're looking for a super professional, friendly, and experienced nail salon...you've found the right place!! I came here about a year and a half ago and I've never found a place that made me happier with my nails.
I've always had trouble in nail salons because I'm very particular with the way I want my nails. I always had gel and acrylic and Sonya (the owner) helped me switch to natural nails and strengthen my nails by doing SNS. Now, I don't do anything but SNS and my nails are stronger than ever.
I made the mistake of going somewhere else last week to do SNS, because I was in a rush and went to the nearest nail salon to my job. This horrible experience made me seriously appreciate my experiences with Sonya and Min at Jersey Nails.
I've never had a bad experience at this salon for over 1.5 years, and I'll never switch my nail salon to anyone else. If Sonya doesn't do my nails, her husband Min does them and he does an amazing job with my nails as well.
The entire salon is so welcoming and sweet, and everyone does a great job, from manis, gel, SNS, to pedicures.. they do a great job overall. I send all my friends and family here, and even my clients from work!
Thank you so much Sonya for being such a great person and so friendly and patient with me from the...
