Good Samaritan Thrift Shop — Local services in Town of Babylon

Very rude volunteers. After reaching out for an item in the window of the store, I was not made aware of an apparent waitlist that I was on. Because I showed up an hour before I apparently should have shown up, it led to staff members rudely talking about me behind my back about how I was early and that I was stupid for thinking I would get the item in the window within immediate arrival. Mind you, I was not made aware of having to wait for the owner to show up, as there was no communication about this (emailing the owner was a very poor experience, as she was not clear and speedy with her responses during the store's hours). Thus, I had to show up an hour LATER just because of the owner's negligence in responding to my emails (I was told after the fact to show up thirty minutes before the store closes, which is a very strange business practice in my opinion). If this hadn't happened, she would have saved me the time I wasted when I brought my fiancé with me. The dress I got was a beautiful true vintage, but the experience of going to this thrift store was beyond my worst customer experience.

Do not go here if you don't want to face...

Always find something when I come in. Great prices and a nice selection for being a smaller thrift store. They always have some type of sale going on which is definitely appreciated. Not to mention the wonderful volunteers who work at the register. They are all so nice and helpful.

EDIT 3/15/2025: Still love the store. The volunteers are all very friendly, they have a nice selection of items, and I appreciate the free books/media section they have. I am a little disappointed that the color sales have been replaced by a different way of sales. I liked the color sales because everything in the store with a certain color was on sale - now it seems like it’s just a few select items on sale and...

What a wonderful little store..the staff is so kind and sweet. The merchandise is amazing..sometimes you will find that long lost pin your grandmother wore. Or maybe that blazer your mom had back in the day. But dont be shocked if you find a rack of brand new clothes..
