I purchased the Kirkwood recliner ...waited for the 6 to 8 weeks for delivery and we were pleased to see it arrive. After several days of use I realized that the head rest on this particular model was pushing my head forward and causing an existing disc condition to act up resulting in pain in my upper back and neck and numbness down my arm...anyone who has ever experienced a pinched nerve will recognize the symptoms Iāve described. I called to discuss the problem with the Asst. Store Manager and experienced the poor attitude and lack of customer service skills that so many others have written about in their reviews. I then had to speak to the regional sales manager for the locally owned Long Island franchise who was also completely unsympathetic.....he told me had been doing this for 35 years and never heard of any injury from a product...as if I was making this up. He suggested I call corporate. My wife and I have both put in calls to corporate customer service and have been told it is up to the store to respond to the problem. Apparently there is no concern at the corporate level or at the Long Island Franchise Management level in regard to customer safety issues. As for the claim that there has been no potential for injury for 35 years...all one has to do is review Lazy Boy product recalls reported by the US Consumer Product Safety Comission. Last year for example there was a recall on over 2000 units because of the potential to cause electrical shocks. There were also product recalls in prior years due to furniture tipping over. The headrest in the chair that I purchased is a fairly new feature referred to as an āadjustable upper back pillowā which means the headrest pillow can be lifted up and a regular pillow can be put in its place if you want to sleep in the chair. The unfortunate thing is that this design tends to push the head forward and that can cause all kinds of problems if you have any preexisting spinal conditions. Perhaps what I find most disturbing is the lack of customer service at all levels in an organization that was once known as a standard bearer for quality and service. As a long time Lazy Boy customer and advocate I am truly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking for a new sofa and reclining chair for several weeks. I perused the La-Z-Boy website on numerous occasions, but I was never able to decide on what to buy because anything I saw online could not convey how comfortable or sturdy the furniture would be. I was in the Huntington area when I decided to call the store on 110 and ask them for some information. Avery Kennedy picked up my call and immediately was able to give me some very helpful and pertinent information about what I needed and was looking for. He invited me to come to the showroom and see what they had available since I explained that I needed the new furniture as soon as possible.
Upon arriving at the La-Z-Boy store, Avery was incredibly personable, kind, patient, friendly, and very helpful. I was blown away by their selection and all the different items they had available in my price point. He walked around with me and told me about the different variety of recliners and how they would fit my needs. After 10-15 minutes of speaking with him and walking around, I finally found the best version of recliner and sofa set that I was looking for. I am so happy and excited with my purchase. I could NEVER get this magnitude of service online. Only a professional, competent, and very knowledgeable sales associate like Avery Kennedy could have helped me find the furniture of my dreams.
This is my first-ever recliner, and I absolutely love it. It has all the bells and whistles that I could ask for. I am very happy with my purchase and grateful for the quality of service I received at the La-Z-Boy in Farmingdale on 110.
While Avery was helping me schedule the delivery and explaining the extended warranty to me, Kevin, his manager, was there to clarify any additional questions or concerns that I had. He too was very helpful and knowledgeable about the process and the products.
Overall, I give my experience at La-Z-Boy a 10 out of 10. I am a very happy customer, and I will purchase all my future furniture...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn response to your text asking me what my experience was shopping for furniture at La-Z-Boy in Farmingdale NY cannot be said in a few words. In short, extremely pleasant and satisfied that I chose that store. Upon entering the door on Monday morning, February 5th, I was greeted by the nicest and competent salesperson, Candice Mckenzie. I was not looking forward to having to shop, and I told Candice that as soon as she greeted me, which she laughed and smiled and made me feel at ease. From then, she listened, answered all my questions no matter how silly they were. She was so kind and nice that I made up my mind that I would not go to another store to look around for any comparisons. I knew I was in the right store after meeting Candice. She didnāt rush me, which I appreciated, and made the entire experience a pleasant couple hours. She was kind enough to lend me a material sample that I promised to bring back the next morning, along with a down payment for one of two sofas, etc. that I was looking at.
The next morning, Candice greeted me again with the same kindness and expertise that I experienced the day before. She introduced me to the interior designer, Lucy Ospina, who was as equally professional and knowledgeable, and before long was going above and beyond helping me see computer renderings of what the furniture would look like in my own room. She and Candice that day spent hours helping and guiding me through some decisions that I am so pleased with.
I knew that La-Z-Boy was quality furniture, and I would be pleased with what I chose, but I did not expect that the two people that the Farmingdale store hired were the real reason I will only shop at the La-Z-Boy in Farmingdale for any home furnishings in the future. Give them both a bonus! I will definitely tell everyone I know that they need only shop at that location for furniture. And to also demand they are helped by...
