Edit: The owner finally did reach out, and we corrected the issues, and I couldn't be happier. Where should I begin this tale...??? Let us begin at the beginning. In Early August 2020, my husband and I began our much-anticipated adventure to furnish our newly acquired home, as I decided to sell our old furniture. We had purchased much of our older furniture from The Show Place, so we figured we would go back and be just as satisfied… HOW WRONG WE WERE. It is under new ownership and that is obvious!! Our salesperson Charles was and remains the only employee/management person that was professional and knowledgeable, maybe he should be promoted to take over for their floor manager, Khan. We decided and purchased a multipiece, power head rest sectional made by HTL. Charles thoroughly explained that delays in the shipping and manufacturing due to the current pandemic situation. We were 100% ok with waiting 4 months our sectional. We ordered it in black. The one in the showroom was white and made of such amazing quality leather, we did not mind waiting. Fast forward to February 2021 (a little longer than 4 months), we received the call we were waiting for… our sectional was in!!!!!!!!! YAY. After several little hiccups and a major snowstorm, deliver day was here…. This is when this goes off the rails and things turn HORRIBLE. Our order was delivered incomplete. A piece of the sectional was not part of the order being delivered. I called the store; I left several messages asking when the missing piece would be delivered. I spoke with Julia and she asked me to wait 48 hours until they could locate the missing piece?? 72 hours later, I called the store and had the unfortunate luck to speak to the most condescending man I have ever spoken with, Khan basically told me not to worry … excuse me $8,000.00 for a sectional that has taken 6 months to be delivered and it is missing a piece… I should be doing a whole lot more than worrying. I had to ask Khan repeatedly to adjust his tone, to which he explained “didn’t need adjusting and I should allow him to do his job and follow up with me when they figure out where my missing piece of furniture was” … yes, you read that correctly. SO now here we are… 7 months into this saga, and I still do not have the missing piece. When my husband and I went into the Farmingdale store, we noticed the difference in the quality of the one on the floor in comparison to the one in our home… seems like the old bait and switch was used. I have called this store so many times, I know the phone number by heart!!!!!!!!! I have called several times asking for the owner of the store to call me… to which I have yet to receive a call back from. BEWARE of buying anything from The Show Place in Farmingdale, they are not a standby their...
Read moreI just wanted to drop you a note to thank you and The Place Furniture Galleries for your donation and delivery of furniture to our new Downtown St. Charles. Downtown St. Charles is an entire real life/real time setting with a bedroom and kitchen setting, roadway, car, gas pump and store all located inside (on our 4th floor) our hospital to help rehabilitate those in need of physical therapy after their life has been threatened by serious illness or injury. We even have installed working traffic lights as well; it is the only such center in the tri-state area. This innovative program will help patients make a successful transition to normal life. In 1907, four sisters, representing the Order of the Daughters of Wisdom began a century-long mission of providing compassionate care for those in need when they agreed to provide shelter and care for 24 homeless, blind and handicapped children. Today over 100 years later, the small original home sitting on the highest hill in Port Jefferson, Long Island where the four Sisters bought their young charges, has grown and been replaced by a state of the art 301-bed community hospital. We are committed to offering the most advanced technology and the highest level of health care provided with compassion, sensitivity and respect for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. After 100 years we stay dedicated to our mission as set forth by our founders, four devoted Daughters of Wisdom. One of the most difficult items to acquire for this incredible project was the bedroom furniture and we are truly grateful to The Place Furniture Galleries for providing what was needed to complete our Downtown St. Charles. A quick note about the couch and recliner; due to their flammable nature we were restricted from utilizing them in the patient unit but they’re serving a need in another non-patient area of the hospital. Due to generosity, we have opted to have the only furniture in the apartment be from The Place Furniture Galleries and would like to acknowledge your company with a plaque in the center. Again thank you for kind donation we could not have accomplished this were it not for your kindness and willingness to help. We will forward you an invitation when the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place, hopefully we can meet in person...
Read moreI would like to bring the excellent Customer Service furnished by Joann Naumoff to your attention. She is an asset to your company as well as to your support staff. On June 26, 2006 we ordered a sectional sofa from store which was delivered in August. It looked perfect until you viewed the right reclines in the reclined position from across the room. There was MATERIAL MISSING!! This was corrected by one of your repair people coming to our home and pulling the existing material for all it was worth to cover the exposed wood. In November, the material on the right facing recliner frayed. John from your repair center examined the arm and ordered the replacement material. When John arrived to do the repair he discovered that the wrong section of material was sent and reordered it. In January the second order of material was delivered to our home. When John came for the third time to do the repair, he discovered that his instructions were missing AGAIN. When I called Joanne regarding this on-going dilemma, she was sympathetic and handled this unresolved issue with the utmost professional manner. She escalated the unresolved re-order to a gentleman named Peter who prioritized the ongoing problem and arranged for a “re-select” option. I had a very pleasant conversation with Joann after we received the “re-select” authorization letter. She explained my options and instructed us on how to utilize our $2,960.02 credit. My husband and I ordered a new couch on April 17, 2007 with the helpful and informative assistance of Tom Hanlon and are awaiting delivery. Joann turned what could have been a very stressful and frustrating situation into a reassuring lesson for all concerned. We are very pleased with the customer service and on-going support we received from the staff at your Broadhollow Road location as well as those in the District such as “Peter” who followed through with Joann’s request and perseverance. With the customer world turning into a throw-away society, it is reassuring to experience old-fashioned quality Customer Service. We will certainly consider THE PLACE for future purchases and have already raved about the service to other...
