If I could rate this store a "negative 5 stars", I would! Let me start off by saying, my daughter nor I will NEVER step foot in a Free People store again!!! My daughter and I were at the Brookfield location on July 7th, 2025, around 6pm. I was appalled by the rude customer service that we received beginning the minute we walked in the door. I am not sure what is going on with the younger generation, but what ever happened to having manners and respect?!? Upon entering the store, we were never greeted. There was a young lady who was at the register checking a customer out, and then there was the rude young lady that should NOT be in customer service. This young lady was around 5’2” mid length blonde hair, and she was wearing an oversized frumpy pink sweatshirt. My daughter walked past this rude associate twice, and she was never acknowledged or ask if she needed help. Finally, I walked up to the associate, and before I could ask a question, she grabbed her cell phone out of her pocket and walked right past my daughter and I to the other side of the store. After looking to see if anyone was watching her, she proceeded to use her phone and then went to a table of clothes “pretending” to be organizing the garments. After about 5 minutes, my daughter went up to her to see if she could get help with pairing a shirt to match some pants she had picked out. That was a mistake. The young lady snapped at her saying, “Do you need something”? Before my daughter could even get a word out, the young lady walked off and proceeded to get right back on her phone. I cannot say it enough; this rude young lady needs a HUGE reality check. If you are going to work in customer service, you need to stay off your cell phone and actually help people who are coming in to spend money! Free People, we love your clothes, but the rude young lady you had working that night, should not be working in retail, or customer service for that matter!!! We will do our...
Read moreTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a $150 sweater and instead of shipping me the sweater they sent me a brown $30 purse. I called to let them know and asked them to send me the sweater. They said the sweater was out of stock. Then they asked me to ship back the purse which is fine but they never sent a return label or packaging so I didn’t send it back yet. A few weeks later I tried ordering the sweater that I saw was back in stock again in another color and I received an email that the order was canceled because my account was froze. I called to ask why my account was froze and was told because I didn’t send back the purse that was sent to me by accident. I then explained all of this AGAIN and they said they would email me a return slip. I print it out on my printer and then realize I have no packing materials or shipping tape so I take it to the post office, pay for a packing envelope and buy shipping tape (with MY money even though this is NOT my problem to begin with) so I can send the purse back. THEN I try placing the order for the sweater 2 days later and another email comes through that it’s canceled. I call again, this time I am NOT HAPPY & they said they won’t remove the hold until they receive the purse back which can take up to 14 business days. I said can I just pay for the stupid purse which is $30 and they said no because the original item you ordered was $150. I NEVER GOT THAT ITEM! MY MIND IS BLOWN. Who is in charge here? And here’s a solution - if YOU screw up at your company, YOU DEAL WITH IT. How about sending me a prepaid mailing label and package IN THE MAIL to EASILY send back the wrong item that was your mistake in the first place. Now you froze my account over a $30 purse when I’m trying to buy the sweater for $150 again after all of this??????? Are you INSANE???? Now you just lost a customer for life. I will not support some mass operation who treats customers like...
Read morei’ve been to this location twice. once to shop, in which i was never acknowledged but chalked it up to it being late in the day. the second time i came in, it was for an interview. i had applied online and was called the next day and they sounded really interested in seeing me for an interview the day after. but when i walked in they didn’t acknowledge me. and when i went up to the register and told her i was there for the interview her whole demeanor changed. she asked some other worker if she wanted to interview me to which she said no, and the original girl took me to the back, not even asking my name. she asked maybe three questions (all of which i had no way to show i knew how to do the job. just: what’s ur availability ? can u work holidays ?) and told me she had a few more interviews but would let me know by the end of the week. she barely even walked me back out front. i got an email two hours later saying i didn’t get the job. obviously they only care about looks. just a disgusting way to treat a customer and potential employee. just shop at any other store in the strip mall, the workers will actually be nice. how did you want me so bad to come in for an interview but when i show up you can’t even be bothered to remember my name or look...
