My girlfriend and I love trying out new sushi places, so we found a Groupon for this place and headed down for dinner. The environment was nice enough, and we were the only customers in the restaurant - probably because it was New Year's Day. We didn't have any issues until our order came. I'm allergic to sesame seeds, so I had ordered mine without the seeds. My girlfriend left the sesame seeds on hers.
When our orders arrived, the waitress put down her plate in front of me and mine in front of her. An honest mistake, but when she switched the plates, I noticed that my rolls had sesame seeds on them and my girlfriend's didn't. I notified the waitress, who scolded me and asked if I just didn't want them or was allergic. Then she scolded me for not saying I was allergic. I shouldn't need to rationalize my reasons to a waitress, just saying I didn't want them should have been enough. Whether or not I notified her of my allergies wasn't the issue - the issue was that she switched up mine and my girlfriend's order.
When I went to use my Groupon, the waitress grabbed my phone from my hand rudely and said "No!" and rapidly scrolled up and down looking for the terms and conditions. It didn't say anything about it not being valid on weekends, which I guess was what she was looking for, so I got to use the Groupon and save $11. I was appalled that she grabbed the phone out of my hand; in retrospect I should have said something right then to the manager, but I was pretty taken aback.
The sushi was just okay. I've had worse at Chinese buffets, and better at most sushi places on the Island. One special roll I got had scallions or something on the roll, which added a bitter taste to it. It's not like me not to finish sushi, but I couldn't here. It's also overpriced, and even though it's not by much, I wouldn't say it's worth the...
Read moreJust ordered 2 Boston rolls and 2 Phoenix rolls for delivery to my sisters house in Coram since I was visiting from out of town. They delivered the wrong order (2 Boston rolls and 2 Philadelphia rolls). Due to food allergies, I couldn't eat the Philadelphia rolls, so I called them back. I tried to explain what happened but the language barrier with the gentleman on the phone was an issue. He said he would send the Phoenix rolls right out. A few minutes later he called back to say that he wouldn't deliver then unless I paid for them. Even when I explained that the error was their's, a woman who worked there insisted that I pay for them. We went round and round and they wouldn't budge. I let them know what bad business this was! It's obvious they don't care about their customers. Very disgusted that our dinner was ruined after trying to support a new local business. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. I was not at all impressed by the Boston rolls either. My local supermarket in Rochester called Wegmans makes better...
Read moreThe first time we placed an order for delivery was ok, they screwed up one of the rolls and delivery took an hour but we didn't really mind as the food was delicious. This time, however, was a completely different story. Not only was our food an hour and a half late and cold, but they completely forgot a part of our order and somehow the total we were told over the phone had grown an extra 5 dollars. When the delivery man finally arrived he had the nerve to argue with us and blame us for him being late, saying he was "very busy" as though our order had inconvenienced him. An hour and a half later at 10:00pm we received a call from the restaurant about our missing food, the woman on the phone said the delivery man could bring it by because it was "on his way" and seemed completely unphased by us telling her that we were never ordering again and we were going to bed soon. The whole experience was bizarre and insulting and I can safely say we have never EVER encountered such...
