Five Below — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

I had heard of these stores, but had never gone to one until the one in Farmingville opened up. I went to see what the fuss was about and was quite impressed. It's the antithesis of a dollar store. I like the low prices of a typical dollar store, but they're often dreary and depressing places, they're dark, not well maintained, etc. Five Below is the exact opposite. It's bright, clean, well organized, music's playing. I go there once a month or two and always find a few things to buy. It's especially worth checking out if you like junk food; this is a junk food emporium. I was pleasantly surprised to see some candy bars and other types of food that I had not seen in many years; I'd assumed they were discontinued, only to see them at Five Below. I just bought a Zagnut and a Zero candy bar, for example, but they have many more. My only complaint is that there aren't many employees on the sales floor, that might be an issue if you need help; the checkout machines are all self-checkout. Do not shop at this location. I shopped around with my kids. Got what we needed and went to checkout which was believed to be self checkout. The guy at checkout was rude in flipping up a sign that was bent over showing staff would help at checkout. He seemed very bothered that I didn’t want him to check me out. But he proceeded anyways. Went to pay with my card and it wouldn’t register the chip so he gets upset and wanted me to give him my card so he could do it. I denied and just used the tap to pay option. Then when the survey popped up he rated my experience a 9! I would have given a 0. Seems like this employee is talked about a lot in these customer reviews. As much as I like dollar stores Five Below is sometimes still a little more pricey than most because some things sell for $20 which doesn't make sense in a store that says $5 or below that where it implies it's a dollar store the only thing I could say positive about here is have a very wide selection of options to buy things that are relatively affordable but some things are just still overpriced for a dollar store standard and I'm not saying I'd recommend other dollar stores over this I'm not trying to be biased towards anybody but this is overall cleaner place and a lot more friendlier than some that I've experienced not just talking about Five Below but other dollar store locations or ...
