If I could give zero stars, I honestly would. I came into the Colonie David's Bridal and dealt with Amy on May 25, 2025. I found my dress and Amy was marvelous. After working with Amy, we were able to get into alterations that day which is great due to the fact I live in CT and it is a 2 and a half hour drive to come visit my family and get my dress dealt with. We (my mother, brother's gf, my aunt, as well as my preschool teacher) were all told we would pay "around $300" for alterations which we thought was awesome. We got up to the register and the total came out to $1400 after my dress came out to around $650.
Fast forward to today, July 12, 2025 we had my refitting appointment which we waited 15 minutes after my appointment was supposed to be until my mom finally asked why we were just waiting. Once I finally was able to get my dress, it was not clean it was dirty and looked like several people had worn it. Gross. Also, we paid for a pocket to be put into the dress and it was not. We were told we would need to come back in two weeks to get my dress from getting it's pocket at which point I stated "No I cannot come back in two weeks I do not live here and that would extremely inconvenience me". The women we dealt with said essentially okay come back in an hour for your dress we will do the pocket. Great. Cool. I was given my dress inside of a plastic clear bag, no dress bag which I feel very uncomfortable with. I am not happy at all with the service I was given and also was not given the fabric for my dress that I was promised I would be given. I can say confidently I never want to shop at David's Bridal after this because this whole catastrophe has done nothing but cause me more stress and honestly made me less excited for my "best day ever".
Since posting this directly to David’s Bridal, they gave my mother $200 back after alterations came out to around $800 not $300 and they had to look for the extra fabric, it was not readily available. Save your time, frustration and energy don’t...

My daughter is getting married in June and we just went for our dress alteration appointments. David's was very unorganized, yes they check you in when you arrive but once you are in the back for your alterations, it's like they forget about you. My daughter was being fitted for her wedding gown while my mom, myself and my other daughter were waiting our turn. They started my other daughter's fitting but never even acknowledged my mom and I. The time was passing and we were about 15 minutes past our scheduled appointment time and we had to ask if they had another person who does alterations and when would our appointment time start, they acted like they didn't know we were there for alterations as well.
Beware of the prices, if I knew that they were going to rip us off in alteration pricing, I would have taken my dress to a private seamstress or to the little Italian tailor that is in town who has done work for me in the past.
My daughter's wedding gown cost over $1200 and they went on to charge her over $500 for bustles, a hem and to steam it.
My mom got a pants suit, only needed the pants hemmed and they charged her almost $100, $30 of that was to steam the pants.
My alterations, cost more than my dress cost me. I needed a hem and it to be taken in under the arm's (dress is sleeveless) and they added $50 charge to steam the dress when they are done. All said and done, $150.
My other daughter only needed them to take the dress up on the shoulders because it was too long (this dress is sleeveless as well) They basically pinched the material in the shoulders and put a pin in it and charged her $40 to steam it. $100 to alter a shoulder?
I would NOT recommend David's Bridal, they are way over priced and the Alteration cost's are Absolutely Ridiculous! They should be very transparent when you buy a dress and what the alteration prices are before you even come for your appointment.

Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. My entire experience was terrible. I went to this David’s bridal for my first ever bridal appointment. My appointment time was 1pm. We arrived at 12:30. The consultant (Lisa) never came up to us until after 1pm. I didn’t get to start trying on dresses until 1:30-1:45. She never asked me what my budget was, what I liked & didn’t like, nothing. I tried on every style dress I could. Every time I said I didn’t like something she brought over more dresses of the same thing. I told her I didn’t like poofy and she brought over 4 more large & poofy dresses that I didn’t even try on. I was there for probably 2.5-3 hours trying on dresses I saw the “consultant” for maybe about 10 minutes total. The most I saw her is when we cashed out once I found a dress I loved.
After the fact, I called and made the final payment on my dress June 2 and was told by the lady on the phone that my dress wouldn’t be here until mid-July which was fine, I’m not getting married for another year so whatever. To my surprise, my dress was shipped to me June 13th from the store and my FIANCÉ was the one to pick it up off of our doorstep. The box was damaged, wet, and my dress is totally wrinkled. I contacted the store IMMEDIATELY to ask why I wasn’t notified and the lady on the phone was so rude and clueless I was better off talking to a brick wall. She claimed that my dress was delivered and I was notified on June 13th but I had no email, no text, nothing. She also said that I was outside of the 2 week pickup timeframe. Which was just a lie because my dress was delivered to the shop June 13th (according to the lady on the phone) and was at my front door by the 16th. Which is only 3 days, one of which was a Sunday. I checked the tracking label on the package my dress came in and it was shipped from the store to my home also on June 13th.
This store made my entire experience terrible. If it wasn’t for the people that went with me that day, I would’ve given...
