Michaels — Local services in Town of Colonie

This review is more about the information on Google and access to the store, rather than my experience inside the store, so I only took off one star.

I went to this location this morning to pick up an order, and arrived at approximately 8:15am. There were lights on inside, but the hours posted on the door stated that it opened at 9:00am. Myself and another woman who arrived before 9:00am both ended up walking/driving away because we thought the store was closed. Walking up to the automatic doors, they did not open, so we felt pretty confident in our assumption.

I returned to the store around 8:45am and again watched a different woman approach the store, read the posted hours, and retreat to her vehicle. I watched several other people do this until a man approached at approximately 8:50am, and the doors opened about a foot, and he went inside.

The rest of us who had been waiting since 8:00am marveled at this, and also went inside.

It turns out that perhaps part of the issue is that the automatic door is broken, and it was not opening beyond a foot or two on its own. When people approached the doors, they would not open, further fueling the assumption that the store was closed until 9:00am.

I'm sure the staff are already aware of this, but if the hours have changed (even temporarily), that should be posted on the door, along with a sign that says "door broken, come in anyway" or something to that effect. Also, obviously, the door needs to be fixed.

I hope the next time I go to this location, I'm not so similarly mystified by my experience as...

So I went to michaels in latham on Saturday to get some balloons blown up and omg I got there at 5:20 paid $35 dollars to have 16 latex ballons blown up and it was a catastrophe, I understand some people move slower then others but this was the blind leading the blind, the 6 that they had done in a half hour were all different sizes and they had some with white strings and some with blue smh so I asked to please have all white like who would put a blue string on a rose gold balloon?? Then they called up who I think was the manager thank god she was able to get the ones blown up that the other two ladies couldnt but it was like time was of no essence for these people it was insane at one point I just told them to stop and I would take what was done and three of them were already dieing from the bouquet of ballons they handed me and they pretty much all died before I got to the party I was able to use maybe 6 put of the 12 I left with mind you I paid for 16, I ended up just leaving some balloons there. If a manager sees this you need to have someone there that knows how to blow up balloons, I will never come back again to Michaels at all period now, I legit have ptsd from that balloon experience. Almost an hour and not busy and three employees. I would like a refund if possible and I will be contacting the store to speak to higher...

I tell them i have a coupon and they say "yeah i know ". Oh good, clerks are clairvoyant because they never tell me my total with or without the coupon so I've no idea how badly im getting bent over with this stores astronomical markup an most items but it's good that someone knows i guess.

You may as well not bother looking at the website because the inventory system obviously is just one electronic shrug. Website will say yes there's 4 in stock cmon in! Go in and its zero, so now you're stuck in this middle aged crazy country living white lady asylum looking for a comparable and usually nonexistent product that isnt 500 percent more than the item you went for. Im pretty sure this is deliberately done.

The atmosphere here makes me feel like im always being followed and despite paying for everything i always feel like im a suspected shoplifter. Maybe it's just me, but theres def something about the lighting and high shelves that makes it...
