I used to drop off my donations here for many years, but I stopped about a year ago because on my last trip there I had a bag of gently used clothes for donation mixed with a couple of never before used toys. Their goodwill website specifically says that they take toys as donations. When I went to drop off my donations that day, a rather rude lady who worked there came up to me and abrasively asked me whatâs in the bags. I told her itâs mostly clothes with a couple of toys mixed in. She told me that they donât take toys and if I donât want to take them back now sheâs just gonna throw them out. I told her that their website specifically says that toys are accepted, and that Iâve also been donating toys to them for years. She rolled her eyes and walked away.
On another occasion a man who worked in there turned away some of my household donations as well, along with a small piece of furniture that (you guessed it) their website says they accept.
Another time I was about 8 months pregnant and had about 3 or 4 large bags full of clothes to donate. I went inside and asked the gentleman inside if he can help me bring one of my bags inside because it was very heavy. He was hesitant at first, but after seeing my clearly large, round, pregnant belly he said heâll help me but he normally doesnât because he is supposedly not allowed to. Luckily there was another young man outside who saw we were struggling and ended up helping.
Because of the inconsistencies of what their website says they take and what this location actually takes, I just stopped going there altogether. It was quite a headache dealing with them, especially the fact that most of them working in there were very rude and had zero customer service skills. They always seemed like they were doing us a favour. I thought the whole point of goodwill was to accept donations? Not turn people away!
Additionally, the last few times Iâve gone there they also seemed extremely overcrowded with things in there. Iâm not sure if theyâre shortstaffed or what but it was extremely cluttered in there and didnât look well-managed. I hope for their sake theyâve sorted things out because a lot of people that I know stop donating to...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this Goodwill location today and will not return even though I have long donated there. The donation center is supposed to open at 10:00 a.m. I drove a half-hour from my home to arrive at 11:00 only to find a handwritten sign on the door stating that they would not open until 12:00. I noticed that someone had left a box of goods in front of the store, so I proceeded to add my three boxes of donations. A woman came out and berated me even after I explained that I didn't live nearby and had to get to work. She also told me that my carefully assembled donations would go into the garbage. How sad that in trying to do a good deed, I was rudely...
Read moreThis is incredibly unexpectable. I feel agravted. I woke early and ready to go to Goodwill, to shop for a gift. I look online and it says you're open so I make my journey towards Goodwill, just to find out that it was closed and I even waited an extra hour after it was supposed to open and nothing at ALL. Myself and including other several individuals were waiting outside, but nobody was inside to open the shop. You clearly have several complaints in tour reviews about not being opened when your supposed to. Fix your schedule and dont say your open online when your really closed in person. Such a waste of a trip, I want my time back. Unexpectable Behavior....
