The Village at Bronxville — Local services in Town of Eastchester

Great apartments. Well-maintained, quiet building, 35-45 minute train ride to the city, extremely safe and walkable (car optional) neighborhood, lovely little park across the street. Many families and dogs in the building, but the walls are thick and noise isn't a problem. No major issues: no bugs, no rats, no flooding, the elevators work, all appliances in good working order (including in-unit laundry and central air). It's a great place to live, especially considering the other options this distance from the city.

We lived here for about two years and left due to relocation. We would definitely return if we had to come back to the NYC metro area.

Other things to note:

The building is up a steep hill from the Bronx River, so last year's flooding didn't affect the building at all. There's also a beautiful linear park along the river that runs from Bronxville up to Valhalla. The building is on a tree-lined street in the downtown village area, and all the essentials are in easy walking distance, including the train station right across the street. You could definitely get by here without a car.

The building is currently managed by Greystar, so expect top of market rents, tacked on fees, front office turnover, and somewhat painful rent renewal increases. With that warning note out of the way, Cindy is the current manager, and she's been friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any concerns. Mario heads up maintenance, he's a good guy and does consistently excellent work. He's the only employee who has been here for the entire two years we were here.

Downsides are minor: square footage seems a little bit inflated, there is a utility closet shown on the floor plan that's locked and inaccessible, internet (we had Optimum, some parts of the building have Verizon) can occasionally be spotty after a major rainstorm. Bronxville has very limited overnight parking, so if you have a car, you're basically stuck paying for garage parking.

Great location and apartment We were looking for a fully furnished apartment for 2 months. Leasing - The leasing process was seamless and couldn’t have been easier. Patrick was amazing at helping us navigate any issues or questions we had. Apartment- the apartment was extremely spacious and nicely furnished. The closets are huge. The bedrooms were very large including the 2nd bedroom. I loved that we also had laundry in the unit. They gave us the option for a kitchen and bedding package which was amazing since all our things were in storage. Amenities- The common areas are very nicely decorated and spacious. The gym had updated equipment which was a nice surprise. They also had a little bit of everything so can do a full workout. One of my favorite things is that they have an Amazon HUB in the building. This made it so easy to get all your packages at any time. This was by far my favorite feature especially since it was the holiday time when we were there. Location - for those commuting into the city you can’t ask for a better location. A quick 3 minute walk made my commute heavenly. There is the best bakery and pizza right next door which we loved. Being close to the underground bridge to downtown Bronxville made this apartment super convenient.

We absolutely loved our experience at Avalon Bronxville. If we ever get the chance to move back to the area this will be the #1 place...

We have lived in the Bronxville Avalon for the past year and a half and we absolutely love it. Our apartment is spacious and well maintained, and the proximity to the town and to metro north (and GCT) just can’t be beat. The building is in excellent condition and all community spaces are kept fresh and clean. But the best part of Avalon Bronxville is the staff. Our community manager Patrick is beyond helpful- he is super responsive and ready to assist with anything we need. Not to mention he is incredibly friendly- he is so warm with us and never stops asking what more he can do to help us out. Bob, who manages the front desk and has done so for 20 years, is a true Avalon fixture. He is always ready with a welcome chat, a treat for our dog and cookie for our son. The maintenance staff is a dream- anytime we put in a request they respond right away. They are friendly, quick and talented, and great with our yappy little dog. We love living in the Bronxville Avalon. While our apartment is home base, our toddler definitely views the entire building as his home. He always asks to go for walks down the hall to bring out the trash or recyclables, to retrieve the mail or a package, and to visit with Patrick and Bob. We are so grateful to live in this...
