A three quarters of a million outdoor project designed to provide the library with an enlarged back patio commenced about a month ago (end of January 2024). Parking behind the library is tough and limited. The construction, as anticipated, has extended out into the parking area, so what was before a 20-car lot is now only half the original size, with 7 spaces blocked off as "staff parking." But lately, in the front reading room overlooking the church and school, some people sit on arm chairs with boots up, full of mud , spread out on the white windowsill and the smell of pot from clothing is enough to intoxicate around.It seems that the older librarian ladies at the desk can not or dare not stand up to this. This is a library, not a lounge bar. This is meant to be a family place where little kids read stories not get high just from walking around. Might be time for a security guard to be on premises and assure a kid/adult appropriate...
Read moreThis is a great library. I like to come by here often to study for exams and do homework. The only issue is it seems like they have the children's floor upstairs and there are times that it sounds like there's a stampede up there, which is pretty distracting while doing work in the supposed "quiet section". Sometimes it'll go on for hours which indicates to me that the staff isn't addressing running children. Other than that, I like this place. The windows are nice and big and bring in sunlight.
