Gold's Gym — Local services in Town of Fishkill

I was visiting the Fishkill area and wanted to check out local gyms. A friend who is a Gold’s Gym member told me I could easily get a free guest pass online. Nowhere on the website did it mention that guest pass usage was restricted to certain hours beyond the regular operating hours.

I arrived at the Fishkill location at 5 AM, only to be told I couldn’t use my pass until 8 AM because there was no one available to check me in. However, the staff member then told me I could pay $20, and she would be able to check me in—this made no sense. If she had the authority to charge my card and grant access, why couldn’t she check me in as a guest?

Frustrated, I called the Poughkeepsie Gold’s Gym, where the staff member immediately confirmed that this was not standard Gold’s policy. She invited me to come to the Poughkeepsie location, where she had no issue honoring the guest pass. I wish I had just gone there in the first place, as my trip to Fishkill was a complete waste of time.

Very cleanly. A lot of people no matter what time it is in my opinion. I’ve been around 10,12, 3, 9,10,11pm. They have all that anyone needs to workout. The only thing I would critique would be that the lady’s gym needs a stair master. The sauna in ladies locker room should be hot regardless the time of day. It’s usually off and you need to turn on about 15-30 mins before using. I’m not used to older equipment and this gym is about half old, half new age equipment.

There’s a kid club and my daughter got hurt twice on two different occasions. Other than that, there’s a rock wall, basketball court and play area which seems to be clean.

Mandatory 1 star for any given review? Never knew there was a floor for a business review. If 0 stars were an option, then I certainly would have done so.

Business ethics is not one of Gold's few strengths, nor is their accounting tendencies. Gold's has shown an extraordinary lack of respect to my friends and I, regarding a major accounting dispute.

Management skills are absent from the business as a whole, in that their communication and accounting tendencies are legally and ethically questionable.

But, there is no question about it, Gold's is Chum Bucket of fitness facilities.
