My sister-in-law got a ticket near Marcella's on 50. She has been driving from Fort Edward to my house in Glenville to work with my 2 autistic children for 10 years. And that's her second job working with kids. On her first offense, where there was no real evidence of radar being used by the very young police officer, and she was not allowed any verbal rebuttal or able to plead down to a lesser offense without points by a rather overly stern district attorney. She now has 2 points on her license and paid a 250$ fine. All this woman does is drive to her jobs to help children. If you are going to have a district attorney handling traffic tickets, then where is the public defender? Now that she has points on her license, she might lose the job she has working with my kids. Great. Now my kids suffer. Good job Glenville; when did we start being so uncaring about the people who live...
Read moreI’ve seen many negative ratings for this place and i have had the opposite experience. I prefer this courthouse over any others ive been to besides saratoga. The judge is very considerate and kind and so are the workers at the clerks office. I had a court date and a fine due on the same week and mixed the days up with each other and realized it the DAY my fine was due and a half ab hour til the clerk office closed. I live over a half hour away. I called and called and couldn’t get through to anyone so i left a message explaining my mix up. I just figured i really messed up and my license was probably suspended. After the weekend i received a letter from the clerks office telling me they extended the due date for my fine for that week. I was so relieved and felt they really went out of their way to help me without even talking to...
Read moreDisorganized, chaotic, and a nightmare to deal with. No matter what time you arrive for traffic court be prepared to wait hours upon hours for them to call your cause. Through the language barriers, you will be waiting for over half an hour just for one non English speaking person to try and understand what's going on. There is no order. You sign in and can be seen by a PD within twenty minutes. Then people who came after you and saw the PD leave within ten minutes. I have never seen such a disorganized mess. It's going on eight pm and over 50+ have yet to be seen for minor traffic violations. Unacceptable. Simply unacceptable for a court of law to run in...
