If you are of African American descent do not go in here to sell you items. They have a sheet as to how and what they are supposed to price things however they pick and choose on when they actually use it. I brought in a bag of items that were barely ever used items, Nike, Adirondack uggs (worn 2 twice), brand new chuck taylors, house of cb (British luxury brand) and many other things and they were looked over and I was only given $5.40 for whatever they did take. I have no idea what they did take because I wasn’t even given a receipt but skipping over items of that nature in itself is “interesting” to me in the first place. I called another friend and they had the same experience and took their items to another Plato’s closet and were given the correct amount of money for their items. I called another Plato’s closet and they told me themselves they have a price list and how they do things and my items would have definitely been taken there. When I called this location to speak about this I spoke with Denise and she stated that it could be because the items were “used”, or “demand” and all the things someone says as to why it could have happen. (My items were brand new it genuinely would have been a steal for anyone who walked in and purchased them from here) I express to Denise that I took the items to a church after so it’s genuinely not about the money it’s about principle, if you have a set way on how you are supposed to be doing things, don’t pick and choose on which customer gets to experience how you are actually supposed to be doing and pricing things. Regardless when I went in there it was already a weird vibe and even when I came back it was almost like they KNEW they did something weird. So as I said before if you are AA decent just stay away from this location and don’t even waste your time. Is this going to change who and how they operate most likely not, but what my review can do is save you the ridiculousness before even...
Read moreBy far the worst Plato’s Closet I’ve been to, possibly even worse store I’ve been to. The store itself is quite messy, there’s always clothes on the floor, which can be excused, but the sheer amount of clothing they pile onto the clothing racks makes it near impossible to shop the inventory. Every time I have visited, I have to wrestle with the clothing to get it off the racks (clothing tangled on each other because of how packed the racks are). All the employees are always working behind the counter, you’d think the manager could delegate to one of the associates to do some housekeeping around the store every once in awhile… The pricing is quite confusing as well. I know there is a set list of how the prices are set, but today when I was there, there were two tank tops that I really liked that were the exact same tank tops, but for some reason have different prices? One was six dollars and the other was ten dollars, even though there was no difference between the two tank tops. However, my biggest issue is the customer service (or lack thereof). The employees are shockingly unresponsive. Every single time I have visited this location, they ignore me, give me dirty looks and make me feel uncomfortable. I stood in an empty line, making eye contact with multiple workers for a few minutes until one of them finally decided to stop their tasking and actually cash me out. Through their actions, it’s clear I am not a welcomed customer even though I try to be kind and patient every time I have shopped in the store. With that being said, there is one associate who is pretty chill (has brown curly hair, didn’t catch their name - but there are usually nice to me and is the only one who bothers to spell my name right on the fitting room door lol). I doubt this review will change their work ethic, but this is a word of warning to anyone who wants to go here - Don’t - (especially if...
Read moreThe employees are absolutely indistinguishable from the customers, I was kind of confused as to why they were dressed as they were? The store itself seemed very chaotic and messy. They had a lot of Walmart stuff there and I don't really understand that? For example one of the time and true pieces that I saw there literally had a clearance tag for $3 and they marked it for $10.00? Some of the shoes that they had were really just unsellable, just nasty. I work in a thrift store and some of the items that I saw I would have never put out! They had a Coach bag for $50 and it shouldn't have even been put out, the bottom of it was torn and it stunk on the inside. They also had a Michael Kors bag that was literally from two seasons ago that was on the website, on clearance for $50 and they were selling it for $50!? I think that they definitely need more quality control at that store and the employees should really be dressed a little bit better because some of them literally look like they JUST got out of bed with their Birkenstocks and their extra...
