Culinary Clubhouse is a fun learning experience for kids. It is located in Stewart Plaza,in Garden City. Upon entering there is a welcoming lobby now decorated with Halloween decor, then you noticed the glass where you can see the kitchen - there are 2 kitchen areas that can be separated by a sliding door, then there are coat hooks and restrooms in the back. They offer a free trial class and kids are grouped by age. This truly is a culinary experience with instructors especially for the older kids and doing prep, using utensils, using cookware and enjoying what they made - new foods, spices or learning how to make things that they have eaten at home. Children often eat the same thing so this allows the opportunity for kids to try new foods. If your child is unfamiliar with a utensil they will instruct the child which is great. If you have any questions about utensils can ask before the trial class. It's also a great opportunity for parents to have a social story with their child about utensils and safety as well. As for cost, given that there is supervised instruction and the items needed for the children to cook or bake are provided, the price is reasonable in my opinion. It is membership based, but they offer a $75 drop in rate and have specials like this weekend for Halloween which is $65.00.
