Double Fish Chinese Food & Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Ok here we go. Welcome to the neighborhood! I ordered the general tso chicken and sesame chicken and fried dumpling and eggroll and pork fried rice. The GenTso was very crispy which is spot on. The portion size was good which it should be, I paid for the large. But there wasn't much sauce. There was zero broccoli. And it wasn't remotely spicy. The sesame chicken was also crispy and had decent flavor but it fell short as well. The dumplings were NOT dumplings but goyza. The dipping sauce was almost 100% soy sauce. So no bueno. The eggroll..well I can't tell you because we got a spring roll instead. That was full of mush made up of mostly carrots and cabbage. The pork fried rice was unremarkable. The white rice tasted more like uncle bens than jasmine. Add the fact that I live 600ft away and it took an hour to get my food 🥺 ..you get an overall eh experience. 3 stars IMHO is...

For the life of me, I can't quite recall a time when I loved "Chinese Takeout" as much as I love the food they are skillfully blazing at Double Fish. This is not a takeout place, this is quite literally authentic Chinese fair at takeout prices. Not to mention there sushi amazing in itself, the sushi is actually the 1st reason why my wife and I continue to come back. At least to my taste buds. We just ordered for the first time from this restaurant and we were NOT disappointed! All of the food was very well prepared. We had the Chicken Gyozas which were delicious, the pork fried rice where they had peas, carrots, red onions, bean sprouts and very tender pork! The scallion pancakes were the best I've had out of all the restaurants I've ordered them from. The food was fresh and the service was very friendly!
